Top Ten

Postby Rob » November 7th, 2009, 6:50 pm

Wow, what a wild weekend in college football. My 'eers won, looked like a pop warner team in doing so. ND lost, and the team up north lost, great weekend. Now for my Top Ten.

1. Texas - Better than I think they are.
2. Alabama - the class of the SEC
3. Florida - Can't wait for the SEC Championship game
4. Cincinnati - Simply because they are undefeated, looked bad this weekend against U Conn.
5. TCU - This years BCS buster.
6. Georgia Tech - Looks like they will play for the ACC Championship
7. Pittsburgh - Consistent all year long.
8. Ohio State - Looks like they will win the Big Ten.
9. Iowa - They will drop out next week.
10. Boise St. - Simply because no one else deserves to be in the Top Ten, but they are proving my case each week by playing to the level of their competition.

This one is very week and I know it. But let me know what you think.
If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. You know....You know... You know I don't have to say anything but because I'm not saying anything doesn't mean I'm trying to DUCK the issue.

1. Florida - Texas can't handle their run
2. Alabama - Texas can't handle their run but they can't score w/ Florida.
3. Texas - Best of the rest
4. TCU - For now but I think Cincinnati is better. Utah this week.
5. Cincinnati - Need to bounce back this week after slacking off late.
6. Boise - Because they deserve it
7. Georgia Tech - Rambling toward a loss to Clemson in the ACC Champ.
8. Pittsburgh - Cincinnati's biggest threat
9. Utah - One loss and last team to beat Alabama
10. Iowa - You're right. Can't beat Ohio St. without QB

This is for now. LSU deserves to be a top 10 and will be eventually.

I like both of those lists and neither includes LSU, rightly. I was flabbergasted to see LSU at #9 in the BCS. I don't get it. That team is not that good. Alabama should've won by 2 more touchdowns but for blown executions. LSU is still overrated.

If I had to pick an absolute #1 right now, I'd probably pick Florida myself. I think I'd put Texas #2 and Bama #3. I'd go with Cincy at 4, Ga. Tech at #5.

Picture this playoff scenario:

#1 UF and #2 Texas with byes.

#3 Bama vs. #6 TCU
#4 Cincy vs. #5 Ga. Tech

Then #1 vs. 3/6 winner, #2 vs. 4/5 winner in a semifinal round.

You'd have some surprises with that, wouldn't you?
