I wonder when Benny Hinn's critics are going to abandon attacking him for a 20 year old video clip that he has publicly repented for around 10 years ago.

But hey, as long as you don't have to pick the log out of your own eye, keep on working on Benny's splinter.

He's repented of bilking money from people while living a lavish lifestyle from his victims gifts? I didn't know that. I applaud him for doing that.

BTW, I love the "Flock of Seagulls" hairdo Benny was styling in the video.

So does this mean you have committed murder in your heart already ? Surely someone falling off a fifty story building whould die.

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. I think that is found in the scriptures also.

" for to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. but why do you judge your brother ? or why do you contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ. For it is written: As I live, says the Lord Every knee shall bow to me, and every tounge shall confess to God.
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not tp put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way." Rom 14:9-13

But I guess that this does not apply anymore, or I have just taken it out of context. Oh how silly of me to think the scriptures actually apply to us all.

I wouldn't say that I would like to push anyone off of a 50 story building, however, I won't hesitate to warn people of false teachers or doctrines that are false. It is frustrating to hear people say that we should not judge people whenever the issue of false teachers come up.

If we are judging someone by pointing out their false teachings, what do we do with the following scriptures?

Titus 1:10-11

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

I don't know whether or not Benny Hinn is called of God. I won't and can't judge his heart. I can judge for myself as to whether or not his words are indeed the words of God. I personally think he is very shallow biblically.

All I know is that Judas' selling out of Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver is not so shocking when compared to todays so called disciples of Christ. What is the difference between Judas and the many preachers today who say they are disciples but sell the gospel?

When we warn people to have nothing to do with them, is that judging them?

ONLY the ones that you can condemn others over;

if it pertains to the deity of Christ ONLY THEN do the scriptures not mean anything.

If find it extremely odd you'd latch on to an hybebolic joke with the accusation of murder;
yet defend ministers who preach Jesus isnt God.

WAIT! I know! I'M the one who has the problem and I need to just give up Pentecostalism and Go be a Baptist (so I'm told).

Well said Jessea. Something that I would have expected of someone of Paul (of Jude 2) to understand.

But, what do I know as I literally live in the spotlight of the excesses of the TBN crowd (Trinity is just down the street and WELL LIT UP).

Jessica, some might not think so, but I agree with you completely. I have no problem when someone points out false doctrine, errors, God knows I grew up with a great deal of erroneous teachings as did many.

What I do have a great deal of problem with the way things are said. " I'd give him a Holy Ghost shove off a fifty story high building, I hope these guys burn in hell, they would be better off dead, they are devils. And if I went back through the threads I sure there are many more descriptive adjatives that have been used.

Judge a mans' doctrine and beliefs, judge a mans actions, judge a mans motives, cry out the wrongs let it be made known from the roof tops or through the forums, but let God judge the man.

Where, and I am asking for proof, do you see anyone on here saying someone wants him to burn in hell and he would be better off dead?

Do you, and I want you, Paul, to answer this, really believe Dajudge really meant that? If so, lighten up. It's a joke. Get a clue. Maybe you don't have a similar sense of humor. Great for you. But to accuse someone of murder in their hearts for a joke is beyond unreasonable.

Oh, I so wanted to stay out of this one!

Dajudge's joke, (sorry, Dajudge), was just as bad (and in fact very similar!) to what Benny Hinn was saying in the video clip. Joke or no, still bad!
It was bad for Benny to say it, just as bad for Dajudge to say it...
two wrongs don't make a right! :)

Is it a church, or a tv station you live close to?

Paul, did you watch the Benny Hinn clip refernenced at the begining of this thread? He said he wanted a Holy Ghost machine gun to blow his critics' heads off.

I responded in a similar bit of hyperbole that I wanted to give him a Holy Ghost shove off of the top of a building.

[Edited to remove some ugliness after a most gracious apology was offered to my by Paul]

Jennifer, its Trinity Music City, the former Twitty City (of Conway Twitty fame). It is lit up from the outside all the time, but especially from the time of October through February. The inside of the facility is just sickeningly gaudy. I have been for a few free concerts and literally have had it turn my stomach to think of the poor victims of these people that blindly send their money to support this gaudiness. It is a shame (maybe I added one too many letters to that word) what is going on there.

We one time stayed for a complete taping. We watched their workers be planted in the audience, watched them turn on the shout for the camera shots, stop mid shout to when cameras were turned elsewhere. When they stopped filming during parts, encouraging those around them to shout more for the camera shots, move people around for camera angles to look like a full house (when it was only a quarter full) then to announce with the cameras running that it was standing room only (supported by a tight camera shot to make it look full). If there was ever any doubt in my mind about the integrity of their ministry, it was settled then.
