Skip Carey died

Skip Carey, the long time voice of the Braves, and son of Harry Carey, died yesterday.

I always enjoyed it when he and Don Sutton were paired up in the broadcast booth. They were like a comedy team at times, but always knowledgeable about the game.

Skip was kind of a curmudgeon, but he'll be missed in the Land of the Braves.

Saw this last night. He IS the Braves, or was for me growing up. I didn't know he was in bad health, but I don't listen to baseball either.

Saw this last night. He IS the Braves, or was for me growing up. I didn't know he was in bad health, but I don't listen to baseball either.

Yeah, he nearly died in October of last year, but pulled through. At the beginning of the season, he sounded really bad, but lately his voice sounded a lot better, so I was kind of surprised by his death.
