OSU vs Penn St

Postby dalebert » October 22nd, 2008, 5:09 am

I know that some on here think that some of the SEC games are really good ones this week end....but I think that Ohio State and Penn St will be a great game.......Penn St has lost 7 straight in the horseshoe ...can they end the streak? Or will the Buckeyes continue the string of wins? It should be a good one....Go Bucks!!

Oh, I intend to watch during commercial breaks in the Bama-UT game, for sure. Shame they're both on at the same time for us SEC fans. Clearly, the better nationwide audience game is OSU/PSU.

Mike Golic said this morning that right now he thinks the BCS Championship Game should be Penn State and Alabama. That's beyond my wildest dreams come true.

JoePa has one of his best teams ever. After coaching at Penn State for the last 200 years I am sure that he is thrilled. With that said, I hope Ohio State kills them. Then...........I hope Ohio State falls apart so that UGA can move up. LOL>

With all my trash talking, I am looking forward to this game.

I respect Ohio State, too. I like them. But, there's just a special something about Alabama and Penn State, the rivalry that was there, the battle in the 1979 Sugar Bowl, the goal line stand by Bama in that game, the series through the 80's that produced some great games. We play them home and home in 2010 and 2011, I think. PSU is just one of the few teams (including Oklahoma) that Bama fans actually have a sort of reverence for. We get excited and speak in hushed tones, the way Auburn does about Georgia but for different reasons (AU typically recruits UGA rejects and thanks them for it with an annual genuflection). So, I'll have to say I'm for Penn State this weekend, although I'm for OSU in their other Big 10 games, esp. Michigan.

It's more fun to dethrone one, that's for sure, but it's always fun to beat your rival. I hope I'm the one saying that on Monday for ourselves. 8)

I loved seeing Penn St. win. I can't believe they even reviewed that last interception especially after the last play was ran and the clock had run out. Were they planning on calling the interception back had they seen a bobble?
