We don't have

Postby Pastor Gary » December 3rd, 2008, 9:16 am

We don't have Cracker Barrel in Hawaii. :(

I can't find Peach Tea Ice-Breakers here... or most anywhere! I bought a PILE of these things in a Target near Birmingham and found 2 in Huntsville, but elsewhere? Nada.

Gibson's BBQ (Huntsville, Alabama)

Steak-n-Shake hasn't made it here yet. :(

Well at least you don't have to put up with their smug commercials. :D

I'd gladly put up with those to get the food! We get Sonic ads and have no Sonic here...

Cheerwine can be found at most Ingles stores, no matter what state they are in, since they are based in NC. I love Cheerwine and Sun Drop...great stuff.

I also enjoy livermush, either Jenkins or Neeses, which can't be found many places outside of NC.

Nehi soda of any flavor is awesome and hard to find. Nehi Peach and Nehi Grape are my favorites. You can find them at little mom and pop country stores in the mountains. Sometimes you'll find a grocery store in a rural town that will carry it.

I have a Cracker Barrel map in my truck. It's a map of the USA showing the location of every Cracker Barrel. It comes in really handy on long drives when you have an itch for some sweet tea and hashbrown casserole.

That's it, now I'm hungry again.

Anyone remember the Areopagus in Chatt. from the TC years? Turkey & hot pepper cheese on a Kaiser roll, pickle, chips, coke in a mason jar and cult dancing!!! Nothing better!!!

Hey Shellie! Thanks for the Pickled baloney!

I like to get a Mrs Winners Chicken Club biscuit when I go through Nashville or Chattanooga. Big biscuit, fried chicken breast slice, cheese and bacon! We don't have Mrs. Winners in Ky.

I also like to pick up Double Cola when I'm in Tennessee. I found it once in Elizabethtown, ky....but it's the only time I have done so.

I like White Castles about once a week.....but I still like to get Krystals occasionally when I'm on a trip. I really hated when they stopped selling fried chicken and the last time I tried they no longer sold the Special K burger which was a burger, cheese and HAM.

Here locally is one of the last remnants of the old "Ollies Trolley " restauant- burgers with special sauce and spicy fries . Theres a few others in Kentucky and a couple in Cinncinatti and Washington DC...but when the chain kinda went belly up the local one bought the original recipe sauce and they're the only one that has it.
I have to have that every once in a while.

I miss Round Table Pizzas with everything on them, they have them in Washington but apparently not around here... the closest thing here would be a really good Papa Murphy's take and bake pizza with chopped tomatoes, onions, and the works on top.

I miss Brown and Haley chocolates and I miss Aplets and Cotlets too, another great candy- you see them in stores sometimes, but they are pretty expensive here. I think they're called "Fruit Festives" and they are a Washington fruited version of Turkish Delight....yum.
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

I forgot to mention Donato's Pizza. Man... I love that.

Speaking of pizza, I miss 2 pizza spots in Louisville, Wick's and Impellazari's. I love Wick's bread sticks and salads and Impelazari's pizza and bread sticks!!

Another Louisville spot that is my favorite is Lynn's Paradise Cafe!! I love the breakfast there the best.

Louisville has three Pizza chains that are excellent Wicks (standing room only on weekends) Impellizaris (deep dish THREE INCHES THICK -they closed for a while but recently reopened) and Bearnos.

Bologna that has been pickled.

Chunk bologna that has vinegar and spices poured over it and sealed in a similar way that cucumbers become Pickles.

I do love me some Bearnos too!! We usually go to the one in Fern Creek! When I still had my mom & dad's house, we had Bearnos delivered everytime we visited. We also like Uno's sometimes.
