Here's what I'm not getting. Why isn't it God doing it when all these other agencies come into the picture? When a procedure or medicine or whatever is a causal part of someone's healing, how does that in any way diminish or change the fact that God is the one who did the healing??? Should we not give Him glory when the chemo works? Shouldn't we praise God for the skilled hands of a surgeon or the quick thinking-on-the-feet of a dynamo RN? If not, what do I do with that teaching of Scripture that says, "In all circumstances give thanks for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus?" Do I just beat at the air by thanking Him for something He had nothing to do with? No, of course not. Why is one means better than another?

About 4-5 months ago, a neurosurgeon told me I needed to immediately have a disc replacement surgery, not to delay. Things would only get worse. Well, I ignored that. I just didn't think he was right. No reason except it just didn't make sense to me that what he was telling me was going to make me miserable. I felt miserable, but guess what. Here it is July and the main problem I had was almost no mobility and virtually zero strength in my right shoulder. I've got probably 90% mobility, no pain to speak of, and probably 85-90% of my strength back, at least for what I normally need it for anyway. I'm thankful to God for that. I'll take that as a healing.

That doesn't mean that the surgeon was wrong or that I'd have been somehow morally or spiritually sidetracked by having it done. My pocket would be lighter a deductible and then some. BUT, he could have, though, helped me avoid what might be a more serious problem later on. Maybe he's the smart one and I'm the dummy. Fine. I'll chance it. Surgery will still be costly, and the recuperation will still take a little time. Either way, the healer is God, whether by time and determination to build back my strength or by surgery ..... or by not relieving the problem (sometimes He does that, y'know).

Rambo, you weren't healed. A doctor merely removed a kidney stone from your body. Sure it was painful, but you weren't healed. in fact I am sure that any damage that the stone did to your body or the doctor did while removing it took several days or even weeks to heal/regenerate on its own.

If man offers healing then Christ's pain was in vain. Divine healing is so much more than what you guys seem to think. Sure ibuprofen and aspirin can block nerves and pain sensors and relieve me the pain of a headache but GOD can stop the cause of the headache by His power and HE can do so instantly. There are no side effects, there are no foreign chemicals in my blood stream afterward, and I only had to have faith.

On what day did God CREATE doctors?

Well Dolfan apparently those that are healed by God are also saved because the same faith it takes to get healed is the same faith it takes to get saved. Jesus said it and James says it.

FQ, are you saying that you can't be healed unless you're saved? That is what it seems you're saying.

You are limiting the definition of healing to miraculous healing. That's the limit you are placing on the definition. That's not what it means. Healing is healing. It is an activity that takes place inside creation. God reigns over His creation. Does this really require this kind of breakdown? I mean, really?

You asked when did God create doctors? He does it everyday. He created you, didn't he? And, He created your job opportunity and what you do for a living. So, He created a whatever-it-is-you-do-er, and a whatever-it-is-I-do-er.

Careful Rambo, we don't want to argue with Danny. He's too powerful, after all he has put God in a box and told Him the only way He can manifest His will.

I'll answer too:

Yes, a sinner can be healed.

God even sometime uses miraculous healings to get their attention and remind them that the same power that healed them can save them.
I don't have to prove God's existance. He's already proven that. I just have to prove that He lives within me.

well God did create doctors and he uses them everyday. many times he will show himself strong through doctors. If Rambo had a kidney stone removed, then praise God who directed the doctor to heal his body. Did he get healed? Hmmm. the body is created to heal itself as well. So when rambo had surgery the doctors work plus the body doing its natural work, is a a healing. However life is in Gods hand so when surgery is done it is up to God whether we live or die.

To throw out the possibility that Doctors are wrong goes against some of the most simplistic things they have taught us, even natural remedies through healthy eating etc.

Let me add to CONDEMN one for going to a doctor is a horrific gesture to the one that is suffering. I can testify to that personally. It hurts and is inconsiderate to the one that does not feel as you may feel.

Ac 28:8
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

Anyone care to touch this one?
God Bless

my healing came by the hands of man in surgical removal of the objects that my body produced. I praise God for their education to know what to to and how to do it.

its just a matter of viewpoint i believe......at one hand you could say "yea the surgeon healed you because they removed the stone"....

or the surgeon allowed your body to heal itself by removing the stone....

i hope i never have to go through that, that is for sure haha.

AMEN! especially when people can condemn you to go to a dr on one hand, and turn around and promote the neglect of infant care to the point that it KILLS the infant, AND turn around and praise the situation as if THAT situation is a good example of faith.

as was mentioned, I think by Dolfan; what difference does it make? I believe that it was ultimately God. the doctor deserved thanks for application of knowledge, but praise goes to God for providing that understanding in the first place - in order to allow the genetic predisposition of my body do it's best to recover - more praise to God for creating humankind to be able to do that in the first place, even though not like it really should, had His creation not fallen in the first place.
Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling

i agree it all ultimately gos to God. but the difference is kind of like someone worshiping the pastor instead of God. you would'nt say something like "my pastor gave me eternal life because he is the one led me to salvation!"

and no i dont think you were saying that......but imo that is the difference in saying "the medicine healed me" or "the doctor healed me". God healed you because he is the one who made you. whether that be physical, emotional, or spiritual healing.......
