Taxes

Postby dalebert » April 17th, 2006, 9:02 am

This is the worst time of year for me. I wish we would go to paying a little higher across the board during the year and never worry about filing! No deduction and all that other stuff that goes with doing taxes!

I have only ever got returns... but Danny is trying to start his own business. I'm sure I will think different soon enough.

If you want a simpler, fairer tax plan here's a link you should check out. It is for a national retail sales tax that would totally replace the income tax. The IRS would be abolished. No filing. No paying on April 15. You get to keep you entire paycheck with no withholding.

Under the "literature" tab, there is a thumbnail sketch of the plan

but closing the IRS all together would sure mean lots of jobs lost! How would that affect the economy?

Me personally, I would love to see the fairtax started. From everything I read the government would actually make more money through that system and everyone would pay taxes.

Since my wife lives outside the US, I get an automatic extension until June 15 8) But, it is very complicated after that :(

I would like this and as to closing the IRS, it might save the Govt money as well.
