Am I wrong, but if you have a newer TV and have cable you do not need the converter? I wonder how many people are asking for the coupons and do not need them. Just a thot. One local channel last week did a test for a few minutes for people to know if they were ready for the change over. I'm fine on all tv's and do not have a converter box.

i you have cable you dont need it at all. It would be interesting to know how many are trying to get one that may not need it..

We have gotten the converter and love it. It close to tripled our channels, with most of the increase in channels being channels that are family friendly or christian.

If you have an analog antenna for UHF or VHF which is "over the air"
You need to get the DTV converter. These are the older tv's which receives the local network channel's 4,7,13,21,and 40. (these maybe different in your area by numbers) these are the analog network's
Note: that not all small analog networks will move to DTV only the large one's.

If you have anything else you do not need the converter.

Uh uh. Wallet-Mart and Radio Shack are selling theirs for more than $40. No one was ever promised a free box, just a discount.
