Dr. Ron, remember when we used to sing and play the fire out of that song? But so did every other singing group on the southern gospel circuit - and in COGOP.

pastorables wrote:When did this thread become an Eschatology thread? Someone states that they don't enjoy talking about the rapture and the rebuttal is that biblically we should indeed desire to look for and speak of the Lord's coming.

Rebuttal? That's a weak rebuttal then. I would have said a lot more stuff if I knew I was building an argument for the other side of the topic. I was just sharing my feelings on discussing basic eschatology. Good grief!

pastorables wrote:It doesn't require deep end times doctrine to respond to the initial post in this thread, and that comes from one who just happens to enjoy Eschatology.

I am not sure where this ever went into a "deep end times doctrine" discussion.

It is one thing to provoke others to righteous living, warn them of the pitfalls of the past, and live as if today could be the last day, and quite another to find the views of others heretical because they don't buy into the latest end-times mania.

Many people take end times mania to the ultimate (like John Hagee a man so full of himself it is incredible to watch). The ultimate being trying to make political changes in American government policy in anything regarding Israel.

Just a short while ago a Pentecostal AOG guy approached me and started drawing a parallel between any time America has inserted influence in seeking pease between Israel and Palestianians and great disasters that have befallen America. Such as the Hurricane that hit New Orleans was only a few weeks after America did such and such in the Isreal-Palestinian problem. He had a whole list of them. It was incredible (incredible as far as the stretches and leaps it was making).
