ImaPK wrote::shock: WOW!!! I got saved ONCE when I was 13 and I have lived a life of sin since I was 14! I don't remember asking for forgiveness for things I've done over the last 40 years. Does OSAS mean I'm still saved?    NOT IN MY BOOK! In THIS sinner's opinion,OSAS is a bunch of "feel good" HOGWASH! And don't lay it on me that "it's because you were raised that way". I've gone down this road before on J2. I AM A SINNER though some on here dispute that.(and some agree)A "good moral man" but a SINNER. What happened in my life 41 years ago DOES NOT"cover me" for the things I've done since! The best analogy I can give people(not scripture) is that if a PK does one good thing at an early age they will ALWAYS be known as a "good PK" no matter what they might do with the rest of their life.THAT'S HOGWASH TOO!!!!!!The flip side of that analogy holds true too. In some places I'm still known as a "bad PK".AND THAT'S ALSO HOGWASH!!!!

I hope you understood that all those scriptures I have provided was AGAINST OSAS and agree with your post.
I don't have to prove God's existance. He's already proven that. I just have to prove that He lives within me.

For the GRACE of God that BRINGETH Salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, DENYING ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should LIVE soberly, righteously, and godly, IN THIS PRESENT WORLD; Titus 2:11-12

Oy, vey. Here we go again. I believe in the eternal security of the believer. I believe it is biblical, and that's where I derive my belief. But, I don't want anyone else on the planet to believe as I do. I hope you believe as you are taught from reading the Bible, and from God's many, many ways of teaching it to you through experience with Him. The point I would make here is I don't think it matters whether you "believe in" eternal security. I think it only matters whether you "believe in" Jesus Christ. There will be plenty of "OSAS" as you like to call them in the life to come, and there will be plenty of those who aren't "OSAS". One thing is certain: all of them will be "S". If someone has a particularly rough time in his or her life in being transformed by Christ, I won't then care whether they were, during all those rough times, "S" or "not S".

As I see it, the people who would lean upon "OSAS" as license to sin were never, ever, ever His. They haven't endured, haven't persevered, and unless they are transformed by Him, will live to hear Him say, "I NEVER knew you." And, if they were His and now aren't from a point of view shared by most here, what of it?? How does that impact our duty to that person? It is only a point for debate and not really one for action. It is academic, isn't it? God is way more knowledgeable about the relationship of His sovereignty and knowledge and calling and election, etc., than I am. I onlly can go by what His word says, just as you. We are both created and shaped by Him. If He shapes us to understand a point of doctrine in ways that are somewhat opposed to one another, then either (1) the doctrine is not all that important and/or (2) He is using our opposition for some greater purpose that He didn't send us a memo about and probably won't. I can live in just happy, happy joy, joy hardy-har-har full fellowship with someone who has a 180 degree different view on "eternal security"/"OSAS" than I do. And, you should be able to as well because as long as both of you are, indeed, "S", you're on the same team.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

there will not be many "OSAS" in heaven if they die in sin according to a huge amount of scripture!! i hope the grace of God covers them but my hope does not override the Bible.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Maybe these are out of context but I think it highlights the fact that arguments can be made that none of us are saved yet.

Either way thank God we have an advocate with the Father who is willing to forgive us and cleanse us from all sin. Jesus became our sin already, both our past and future sin so continual faith in His work will get us to the end of this race.

The Armenian argument always relies on the workings of man aka self righteousness and we know what that smells like. Many will say to HIM in that day LORD, LORD I HAVE...... but his response will be I never knew you.
I have piped unto you, and ye have not danced!

if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to fogive us our sins. (at that point we are saved) and then comes if after knowing the truth we sin there is no sacrifice for sin heb10:26. i rest my case. sorry its air tight!!! God gives us a way that we dont have to guess where we are going to spend eternity. and gives a road map(the Bible), or better yet a compass that leads us in the right direction. it tells us what direction we are going. its not about righteousness or works of man. its about Christ working tru us after salvation.
