The scriptures says to forgive, didn't say that you nor anybody else would forget. If God forgives then it our duty to forgive also, even I believe that those of especially heinous crimes (to include sex crimes) would be wisdom to keep an eye on them to see for sure that there is really a change in them. Paul to prove himself and I don't see were anyone else wouldn't either. The main thing is that we learn to forgive as God does. If they have a cross to bear then so much for that. Its not your so why try to carry it. If you must then walk away and make sure that you don't offend or you may be in line for a milstone your self.

You know, I'm of a mind that if you didn't harm me or someone I know and love, or someone particularly vulnerable, then it isn't my place to forgive you because you haven't actually trespassed against me. I do tend to take a no harm, no foul approach to folks. So, if a guy is really a sex offender, and it wasn't my wife or my child or wasn't a child of someone else (I do take it personally if you hurt someone else's kid), then as far as I'm concerned I don't have to forgive you. It's not my offense to carry.

Having said that, if I know you DID do something, like rape, sexual assault or what have you, and it isn't something I need to forgive, then I'm stupid and foolish if I don't watch out for you. If you did it to someone else, there's zero reason to expect that you won't to it to me or mine. So, if you expect me to ever think of you otherwise, the job is on you to live in a way that gains my trust. I may never fully trust you. We'll just have to learn to live with it. Chances are I'll be as nice and civil and polite to you as I would anyone and you may never even know I wouldn't trust your farther than I can pick you up and throw you. But, those are the facts of the matter.
