Again Thankyou. I will be glad to debate any of our doctrine or teachings with you on another thread. it would be my pleasure. I love good healthy debate. As I say many times over at UTR I am fine with agreeing to disagree. I look forward to it. I actually have many questions i would love to discuss as well.

Well I know you do, as do I. We have had some good ones. Yet I have never had the reputation as a liar. You shocked me on that one.

The truth is that I enjoy a good exchange as well as anybody. However, I expect that my antagonist will be open and forthright as to their qualifications, motives and sources. This is something that you weren't. You were deceptive and evasive when asked about your ability to speak on the subject. You claimed to be an outsider, when if fact you are TCOG, which places you dead center in the topic, not on the outside. You have admitted that you felt that you would receive ill treatment if your true affiliation were known. You then proceeded to sprinkle your comments with statements that would draw fire from the COGOP members of the board. I would not have even gotten involved in this thread if it weren't for the perception that you were being less than truthful.

One other thing, you repeatedly grouped me in COGOP, even though I clearly stated at the beginning of my first post on this thread, that I am not now, or have ever been, part of any of the COG branches. When you respond to one of my post, respond to me.

I feel sorry for these people.

It is such a shame.

I remember hearing Brother Murray say, "I have never preached anything I didn't believe, but I have preached some things I would never preach again". I would add me too.

Having been raised in the organization which perpetuated such doctrines and once having held similar beliefs in some regard myself on one hand I feel blessed to have been released from such a mental prison but I also feel sorry for the few who out of blind alliegence follow the skewed visions of yesteryear.

I also feel sorry for all of the other divisive false doctrines of the other "churches" listed.

I wonder if it is not the reflection of our own ugly past that we see in the TCoggers which we struggle to distance ourselves from that causes such a heated debate.

I think that is largely the case with me. The ideas that they hold most dear are the ones that I always hated the most about COGOP when I was growing up. We've excised most of those things from our doctrines, but they embrace them.

I have extensive knowledge about many things I have been asked to post it all. I will not, why would I? Just to anger more people and cause more division? I know there are corrupt people in TCOG as well.

Then why even mention that you have this knowlege? Why hint that you know "where the bodies are buried", so to speak? Dropping these innuendos is just as bad, if not worse. If you're going to make accusations, at least have the guts to go all the way.

I don't want you to leave the board one love. I welcome all points of view. Don't expect your views to go unchallenged here, however. Furthermore, you'll find that a thick skin is a good attribute to have here.

I had heard the same thing and no one has ever come up with any evidence that multiples of such billboards were up. there was one up on the road leading to the Greensboro Coloseum where the State Convention was that year. It was just south on that main drag and, ironically, just above a night club. It has been so long ago I can't remember what was on it, but it did reference the cogop and give a phone number to call for information that "wasn't available from our leaders"

Funny it is being refered to as anti tcogop when it was anti cogop

I saw it as I drove toward the convention and only knew what it was about as I received one of the "Concerned" letters and threw it away half read as I instantlysaw it as a power grab by a group who were "hurt" they didn't get a piece of the power pie at GHQ

It was up for one week and then replaced with a billboard for a much kinder topic ... Hockey.

I have no proof who paid for it, but I have my own ideas as I spoke with several of my friends who tried to woo me to their group. Once they knew I'd never turn, I got shunned and have never heard from any of them again

Ok I apologized for saying I knew many things because I have no intention of slamming anyone. SO you will have to get over it. As I said my father who is not affiliated with any COG organization worked with all your leaders. So yes I have way more info then I would like to have. I should not have said that and I apologize.
I deceived nobody I posted here on many topics not relative to TCOG or COGOP just bible discussions. It was not until the awful remarks were made that I commented. I have very tough and thick skin. I think it is a shame that you state you must have thick skin here. SO a christian site that is named JUDE2 of all things, people should be prepared to for awful attacks and have thick skin?

BILLBOARD remark I just asked my inlaws in Carolina. I misunderstood the old story it was COncerned who had the billboard advertising the meeting and COGOP was wanting it removed aggresively. SO I do apologize for that. I was wrong how that went down. But the preivious poster was correct it was a concerned billboard that I think wade was so upset about. As far as who trashed who and all that happened from the 70's on if you really want to know on a personal level I will talk with anyone of you by phonoe. Again I would rather not but I will. Posting bad things about anyone online is just not something I like to do.

Now my skin is much thicker then some. If you think I fear your words you are mistaken. But I will tell you they are out of line and ungodly.

If you are upset because we choose to teach what the church taught all those years that is so childish. Im not upset that you choose not to, I choose to be where they do. You have chosen to be where it has been changed. That should suffice. we should still be able to have good discussions in a christ like manner. Pray for your anger to be healed.

TW I know you are not in COGOP so in essence you should be on my side here that making blanket insults about an entire group is not christ like. For the last time if I have offened any one here becasue of anything I am humbly sorry.

Omitting information that would validate your ability to speak with knowledge on a subject, is deception. Stating "facts" that will never be substantiated is deception. Deception is a lie!

When you get right down to it, deception is the only weapon that Satan has. I fail to see how a "Christian" can use that weapon and still claim to be acting in a Christ-like manner.

I have seen plenty of hurt and anger displayed by both sides. It truly is a two-way street. Personally I wish that everyone could leave this in the past and get on with Jesus commandment to preach the gospel to the world. Far to much energy has gone into this spat between your denominations, energy that should have gone to spreading the Gospel of Christ, not the doctrines written by men.
