Was that directed at ME?????

To me when he was in college he was a thug, he was allowed to push and shove, hang on the rim, goaltend because he was supposed to be the "star" When you can push a guy 5 foot out of bounds and it is not called an intentional foul is one thing but not even called a foul is another.

THAT being said, IF you are the player and they are letting YOU play that way you might as well do it. IT is playing the game the way is it BEING called. YEP in college he was a thug and he got away with it.

NOW THAT being said, the pros are a different story. I watched a few predraft shows and it was stated in talent, Durrant is actually better right now than Oden, Both have a ton of room to grow, BUT If Oden is taken first it is sheer spectulation. They will be hoping they are getting the next Patrick Ewing, Taking a chance, and you have to take that chance. they said just look at Robert Parrish, did not have much skills but because he was tall he had a nice career.

Personally I think that he will get a lot of calls the first year or so.. Sorta the you never call fouls on Jordan. BUT he will see in the NBA he will be pushed right back and it will be 4 or 5 years before we see what kind of player he will really be.

I am kind of glad he went first. As much as I would have like to see the Sonics finally draft a legit big man who can actually play the game, I am more happy with Durant.
Let the wild rumpus start!

YEP I know... such Insight in only 42 years...I know you are amazed that I am not a writer for SI...

YEP Greg is getting the money so that is a smart move, Yep you can't blame him for taking the money and running... When you are 1 or 2 you can't lose by going pro.

PERSONALLY I think Conley is the better Player, he is has the chance to be the better pro but BOTH he and Oden would have become better players by staying in college. Oden would have not gotten the calls in year two or three and that would make him improve his game and not be dependant of getting calls or not getting calls. IF everything was called correctly His numbers would not be as impressive. OSU was a better team when oden was out of the game. THAT Is why I think Conley is the better all around player. He made those around him better. It was a team where oden was get the ball to him, he will bowl over everyone on his way to hanging on the rim.

BUT either way I don't have to think about it anymore. I am not a nba fan, I was back in the days of Bird,Magic and Dr J. now it does not have the excitement of college ball. College ball to me is really all I watch.
