Today, my blessing(s) are my cats, Fudge and Cuddles. I got them when they were a month or so old, and they have been with me for about 5 years now. They were littermates, and very plainly have some Siamese in their family tree; Fudge is a very dark brown all over, and Cuddles is colored sort of like a silver point. The two of them have very different personalities; Fudge is very active, and likes to play with what whatever he finds. Cuddles, on the other hand, is very calm and passive, and likes to, well, cuddle.
Both of them are, I fear, rather spoiled. They are used to getting attention, and are not shy about demanding to be petted when they want to be. If Fudge feels he isn't getting enough attention, he makes a little yelp, sort like he's saying "Hey!"
They are both indoor cats, which the vet who "fixed" them told me would extend their lives at least 5 years each, because they are not in danger of being run over, or mistreated or arbitrarily tortured and killed by people (actually a very common occurance for cats, especially black cats, which Fudge looks like till you get very close), getting into cat fights, or being exposed to various communicable diseases.
Whenever I come home from being anywhere else, they are always glad to see me, and get on my lap when I sit down. If I didn't have them, I would be a much more lonely man. I thank God for them both.
