Final warning today

Postby Mike Vande » October 9th, 2007, 3:07 am

I just found out that I have till the end of this month to pull my sales numbers up to the expectation, or I am out of a job. The final warning was supposed to be issued at the first of the month, but my supervisor had to do some other stuff first.

I have made every effort I know to make. I have sought training and advice from folks who are doing well, and tried to impliment what they told me, but I am not selling any better than I was.

I am praying to find out if I should go ahead and start putting in applications elsewhere or wait to see what happens here by the end of the month. Please pray.

Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

Sales is not for everyone, but God will help you know His will for you and "casting your bread upon the waters, giving portions to seven and to eight" is never a bad idea.
I had a job interview today myself, and even though it pays substantially less than what I have now, I think it may God's purpose for me for right now. God has a place for you to be used of Him for His glory, where you are now or in another place. We'll pray you find what that is!
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

Can I ask what type of sales you are in?

I do the same, in ours, which is insurance, it is very much up and down.

Sales

Postby Pastor Gary » October 9th, 2007, 10:10 pm

Mike, having spent a big chunk of my life in sales, I really, REALLY understand what you're going through.

It is incredibly difficult to be doing all you know to do, trying hard, fighting for your economic survival, and just seeing the goal exceed your grasp. Having some sales manager telling you "not good enough" but being unable to tell you how to fix it, is just ulcer-making.

The worst part is that, regardless of external factors, sales managers always place the blame squarely on the salesperson... never on the product, the companies' record of service, market over-saturation, competitive factors... nope: the salesperson must b at fault.

Praying for you.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)
