if so, no, not a cross, looks like (to me) a broach, and a serpent-circle: The serpent "chasing its tail" (circle) usually represents rebirth. a protection against "evil, male OR female sexiality, rain and fertility (and other circular philosophies - "circle of life") - for Christianity, is a representation of sin and temptation. - Commonly called a "Urborus" (also Urboros), usually represents various cycles of life.
