Washington State Winter Retreat

Postby Paully_44 » January 14th, 2008, 11:01 am

We just finished up with our 2008 Winter Retreat that my wife directs. She was awesome as always. Mark Hobson, from Texas, was out for his 6th year in a row, this time teaching and it was a powerful class. He also brought along 3 boys from Texas as campers. It is always fun to watch people not used to the snow & cold adapt and have fun with it.

We also had Rob Banks and Lisa from Mississippi this year. They came out to work as Group Leaders and the kids absolutely loved them.

I put up a couple video's on MySpace and will be uploading them later on You Tube. 1 is a slide show compilation I put together and the other is my wife singing "You're Pitiful" during the Talent show.

Missed rjjunior who decided that a mission trip to Ethiopia was more important this year :D and Eagerbeaver as well.

That's the one retreat I miss the most. The snow, the facility, the people, the services, etc. Just awesome and one of the top notch camps I've ever been to, COGOP or any other church.

I noticed Mark brought his Texas guy again...I forgot his name. He was a great kid.

I think I remember Lisa from MS from IYC 2002.

Anthony, that's the one I remember. I think either me or Birch had him in our cabin last year. Funny guy.

Rob is a good friend of mine.

Lisa Moore is one of the awesomest people in the whole wide world! She is one of my very best friends and she is also CrAzY!!

In fact, when Lisa and I get together, we literally scare people with how nuts we are!! I bet the kids definitely had a blast with her there!

Awesome. I just spoke to him on the phone earlier. He said it was fantastic and hated to come home. The night he left.. we had a prayer and I SOOO wanted to just go with him.

Rob is a terrific brother and friend and awesome youth minister. His passion for this is evident. I could tell many stories of how much he has invested in the youth.
