Voices of Lee

Postby teach » December 16th, 2009, 7:42 am

There is a new show out called "The Sing-Off." It started with 8 vocal groups with no instruments and the Voices of Lee are one of those groups. So far, they've eliminated 3 groups so they are down to 5. The Voices of Lee are doing well! It comes on again tonight at 8 eastern time and the finale is Monday night at 8 eastern time.

It's been a really really good show!

some of the groups have good harmonies, but the "cheese" factor of this show is off the hook.

My favorite group so far is Nota. Voices of Lee is good too tho. I am glad they are doing well! I am surprised Maxx Factor is still in! I like the show. Does that make me cheesy?

So, are the voices of Lee from Lee in Cleveland too. I know they are from TN and also assumed they were from Lee University.

They are. The Voices are a smaller singing ensemble under the direction of Danny Murray. The Lee Singers is a larger choir. Both great groups...but Campus Choir is the bomb! :-)

I have been enjoying this show. I'm cheering for Voices of Lee. I think it's great that they stressed the faith basis of 2 of the group (Noteworthy). Nota is really good. I kinda wish it would have been Maxx Factor eliminated instead of Noteworthy last night but Maxx Factor is the better of the 2. I wish the group from Omaha was still in. I would have liked to see if they could grow with the training.

Sorry about the mix up. I meant voices of Lee.

anyway, they are going to the finals!!!!!!!

I think Nota will probably end up winning though.

I really like this show too Jess, and I don't think it makes either one of us cheesy!! Bob and I have watched it together every night!

Can't wait til the finale on Monday night!

I honestly think the Voices of Lee have the most talent top to bottom BUT I don't think they are the most marketable. I think the Beelzebubs give the best show but NOTA is more likely to sell records which is what this is all about. I voted for Voices because my daughter is in the same club with some of them at Lee and whatever my daughter wants from daddy, she gets.

I agree Nota is most marketable. I think they would sell more records than the other two groups. The Bubs remind me somewhat of Straight No Chaser who are doing quite well as a large accapella group. I was thrilled when Voices of Lee made the finals. Monday will be very interesting.

In my opinion, Voices are poised to win if for nothing else but the fact they have a massive amount of support from not only Lee students and alumni but also COG support and their ties in the Christian music and publishing industry. Last night, Max Lucado was sending out tweets for everyone to vote for Voices because Randy Phillips (of Phillips, Craig and Dean) has a daughter in the group. I think enough of those connections are going to energize a big base.

If the Voices of Lee

Postby Phil Hoover » December 17th, 2009, 8:29 am

are the best in the competition (which they ARE), they should win.

What a great witness and testimony this will be to a watching world.

What a great witness for all that God has done and is doing at Lee University.

I'm very, very proud of my alma mater.

And, it is all over facebook too! I changed my status to tell people to vote for them, so even if people aren't watching the show, they can vote.

I know other people who are doing the same thing.
