Your boy just passed me in ITF Mul Duk Kwan. I was a blue belt. Your daughter is just one belt below me if the belts are the same as ours.
Ours were White, Gold (orange), Green, Blue, Brown, and 9 degrees of Black.
Back then Sensei Duckworth was a second degree. I wanna say Master Sias was a 5th degree. That little short guy could stand flat-footed and do a jumping side kick where his rear leg would clear a six foot man's head. He was old then, but he doesn't look like he's aged a day. Wow!
Yes he is. Many remark on how he hasn't aged much. He went from Master to Grandmaster probably three or more years ago. Grandmaster S.L. Kopperud ( President of Unified Taekwon-Do International ) flew down from Canada and tested over 20 of his blackbelts for an entire weekend to see if D.J. Sias was worthy to be a Grandmaster. On testing.. yes many people travel for several hours around to be tested here.
My son has only one more belt to pass ( red belt - which is called an unpolished blackbelt ) before he is a candidate for the real Blackbelt test. He started in the first grade and has enjoyed it. Since obtaining his Brown.. he has really starting the more intense self defense training.
Ours go White, Gold, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, Red, Black.
