Muslim goes 2000 miles to be baptized as Christian

Postby dolfan » September 24th, 2010, 4:13 am

This email I got today will speak for itself. I get these 3-4 times a week, and the stories never are short of anything but amazing.

I redacted a few mentions about fund-raising for a couple of particular needs so no one would think I'm shilling for them here.

Dear Special Ones,

Spent time with Vitaly and Christina at the church this morning to look over the progress of the installation of the insulation on the "Voice of Truth" building; later the outside walls will be plastered. It will look lovely when finished. They are in the process of attaching the styrofoam to the concrete blocks which is an interesting procedure and thought you'd like to see pictures of how it is done. (Maybe you already know!)

The Vice-Mayor came by to check on the city tree trimmers who were cutting off dead branches in the park. He also promised to add more swing sets and benches to the back end of the park, and have the grounds cleaned of trash twice a week. Vitaly asked for more street lights and was assured the city government would consider his request. Please pray God will turn their hearts in a positive direction.......elections are coming up in November!

Vitaly shared a most amazing story concerning a Muslim in Tajikistan who miraculously received Christ, after which he desired baptism, but where? Finally he heard that almost 2,000 miles away there was a church that conducted baptismal services. This converted Muslim boarded a crowded bus to seek out this church in Krasnorask, Russia, and because the bus was crowded had to stand throughout the whole trip! The pastor of that Russian church was none other than our Vitaly Pokidko. Later our Sasha Belev and his wife, Luda (Vitaly's sister) also traveled to Tajikistan and were invited to this converted Muslim's home for dinner. The host shared his testimony and mentioned Vitaly's name. Can you imagine everyone's surprise when astonished Luda blurted out, "That Pastor Vitaly is my brother!" The family of the converted Muslim, his brothers and cousins also have received Christ and are a strong witness for Him in a dangerous country for Christians.

Vitaly and Christina are planning a trip to Uzbekistan next month and expect to travel into Tajikistan to visit their friend. One is never around this couple long to see how active they are in serving Christ wherever He leads.

.....

On 10/10/10, "Voice of Truth" is hosting the first Men's Conference ever! Participants are expected to attend from all over Moldova.

......

We continue to visit our Jewish friends and have much to share, but will save it for another time. God is working, so please keep praying. Kola and I are thrilled as we visit them and hear their testimonies!
