I Want to Have a Beer With Jesus

I was listening to country radio on the way to work and I hear a new song by Thomas Rhett; "I Want To Have A Beer With Jesus." I could not believe my ears. Really? I think this is Over-the-line of respect. I know this is just a song by a young redneck, but there seems to be no respect anymore. I complained to the station manager, I was the 3rd call. He defended the singer, said he had met him personally and that Rhett was a Christian. Rhett says he wrote the song to try to reach lost people in bars. Good luck on that and let me know how that works out.

Many people I work with agree that it is over-the-line. I posted this on a local news page and got 9 responses. One agreed with me, the others against.
