Because Someone Cared Enough To Send The Very Best...

Postby Pastor Don » December 19th, 2007, 6:07 pm

I know that many are watching the foolishness of all the splits and splinters, personally it is gut wrenching to me.

With that said, I just had to share what someone "cared enough" to send me. I think it surely must have been a mistake because we ALL know how OLD SCHOOL I am.... 8)

God bless and
Merry Christmas!

What?????

Postby Pastor Gary » December 19th, 2007, 6:14 pm

I can't believe they didn't send me one! :D

(And this is a CLASSIC example of the things that were discussed in the earlier threads; the attempt to attract people to defect from another group instead of a focus on reaching the lost.)
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

This is really sad. Trying to play on one's emotional heritage. I know more and more why I like working in unreached areas. No one else there to try and steal your sheep.
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

And so you see at least a hint of why you received the kind of confrontational "welcome" to Jude2 that you experienced!

It was a bit of guilt by association. That letter was representative of the spirit and attitude most people outside of TCOG immediately associate with the organization, based upon a history of this kind of stuff. It doesn't seem fair to lump everyone in the group into that category, so I truly hope the good, sincere people in all of the xCOGx groups rise up and demand integrity, accountability and Biblical leadership from their respective groups. (Since I am easily confused... isn't Nabors' group TCOG?? Is your group ALSO TCOG??? How can that work????)

What embellishment and feign use of words. If the man felt this way then why did he almost destroy TCOG before he left it? Why did he force submission to his will, plan, and ideas, even manipulating and using the influence of the office of GO while hiding behind the respect and love for an aged and ill man?

Based on that I conclude...

He only desires, with feigned words, to make merchandise of you. He is a judaizer, interested in your flesh -- proselytizing, lobbying, and tickling ears to increase his domain. It is amazing how much like an angel of light he can make himself appear.

Note if you want a position then just join with him. All seriousness they have caused more damage then anyone I have ever heard about. He walked into a entire convention and turned them all out. Not to mention 1fold, which is INdiana/kentucky/ohio and the many other people he got rid of for not following his new financial plan. Politics at its worse, if you do what I say I will sure make this happen, if you do not you will lose your position. I pray for him. I can disagree with many people but still feel they are honest hearted. Then there are those that are flat out wrong and caused many evil things to happen. Anyway that is my .02
He actually went to our assembly and was having his own at the same time..well he may not have showed up but his crew did 2 years ago

I agree Brother But i will not happen untile God unites us in fellowship, doctrine and our mission.
As long as there are 40 thousand denominations there will always be groups splitting off one another. COG splits are nothing compared to other organizations. Does not make it right.
There is going to be a "Methodist" and a "wesleyan"
I would say "Baptist" and "?" who knows how many Baptist factions there are.
There ae splits of almost every denomination I know of. Some go independent others just go under another name. My grandma lives in PA. they have always went to a holiness church which holds assemblies as we do and etc. To my knowledge they split form "COG" long ago 60-75 year's ago. They have now split again. They teach pretty much as "cog" does.
Remember some feel they are protecting the faith, doctrine , etc. Others feel the are moving in a new but right direction. SO the one carries on as they were others carry on with new changes. As long as "Episcopals" are ordaining homosexuals there will be members leaving and starting over or relaying back to C.O.E. theological type organizations.
Confusion, confusion, and more confusion.

I have not read that book I may have to check it out.

Pastor Gary I understand that. One thing I learned is the character of some never reflects the character of all. Whether it is churches, culture's, or the color of ones skin. It is people not one whole group. I often say same spirit different person  But I do understand. I will say TCOG is becoming less judgemental which is good. Some would disagree but have you heard of us having a service at FOTW before this year? Or renting from "COG" North cleveland church. It was great. I brought a friend to a convention one time and he was mixed in things I used to be. We were part of the same "crew " per say. He had got saved and was going to a baptist church. I invited him to a convention in carolina and it was different for him being a "pentecostal church" but he was enjoying it. Then a group of people were talking and they were around us and this older lady said something like "it was like a baptist" I was so upset!!!! When ever one insults another organization behind the puplit or in conversation im tuned out and have little repect for them. Now it is different to point out disagreements in the correct way but not insults. I was so embarassed. He is now traveling all over the world in mission work. Doing very well in school at that baptist church.

There is an entire world who needs to hear the gospel, so it boggles my mind why anyone would spend their time and resources to target members of another church.

I LOVED this part....

Your name and address was given to us by a caring, loyal brother in the Lord that wanted you to receive this information.

Who is this person, Bro. Don, that is trying to save your soul from hell? They should at least get a Christmas card.

Oh yea, Juan Bonilla's name...anyone catch that one? He's the CPMA director. Again, I ask...where do the CPMA monies collected go? Pastor Don, is FOTW receiving those funds?
