i dint think it should be in Nashville because of there not being barely any space to park..you have to walk all over the place..and I'm not saying that like its a bad thing but your legs get tired after walking so long...and threes alto of traffic you have to watch for. the timing was a little off for me...we couldn't come the whole week because i had school so none of my friends was there either because they had school so really there wasn't as many youth as their should have been. the summer was more convenient because threes not school and people can plan easier around the summer. and i liked the Louisville because threes alto more space to park..and its just easier to get around for me. oh yeah threes the fact that Kentucky kingdom is there too... :D but i did like getting to spend time with Angie in Nashville..that was fun...but that's just my opinion on that

Let's go back to Cleveland!  8)

Really Nashville was great!

I parked right out back every day for $5.

There was food everywhere.

The facility was fine.

I drove out Int. 40 for a hotel. There were plenty.

How about a Florida Assembly? 8)
What we need here is a good revival! lol

I think Nashville is great! I would like to see us try to move the date to July so more kids and youth can be involved! But I give it a 1 out of 10! One being the highest.

transporting? maybe I don't know of the logistics, but if it is coming from cleveland, then it is already being transported, so having it transported to another city should be an insignificant difference (except possibly a minor cost increase). Assuming a stnadard project plans is implimented in a large event like this, that budgeting can be happening upfront as a known issue and milestone.

I understand our heritage and where we come from and the HQ location. However, if everything is being contracted out anyway, then it may jsut be a matter of developing a common list of contractural assistance or preferred vendors accounts in order to develop a relationship to use standard practices across the board and for whatever location is chosen.

While I haven't been involved in a project of that magnitude, I have been involved with some regional and multi-location events and it just takes a bit more communications and planning. Sometimes when planning something like this, there needs to be some choices made based on risk analasys of various factors. Just because it may be inconvenient or more expensive does not necessarily equate the need for a change or not. Sometimes the risk assesment may show that it would be better for the project if it includes mroe cost and or more inconvenience for the planners and administrators.

That said, The Internationality of our ministry should really be more concern than it appears to be. Ther emay be concern about this already at GHQ, but it is not being disseminated to the field. How do the huge congregations in teh CIS feel that our GA's are always over here? what about Africa, South America, etc?

just a couple more cents worth of my initial 2 cents opinion (and the reason I voted no)

Not minor at all when you consider all of the equipment, merchandise, decorations, etc. I help do that for the business club that I run at school. National Leadership Conference always poses a problem because of the cost involved.

while we might not consider it minor, you have to consider the overall impact and budget. and compare that to the other factors. It may be thousands of dollars difference, but that is still minor in the overall project and mecessity of planing and budgeting, especially considering the administrative issues of packing and preparing being the greatest cost and that having to be done already. the soft-costs should be considered, not just the actual expedatures for payment to and from a given location. the cost:benefit ratio has many variables, and paying the shipping bill is only a small part of that.

I loved having it in Nashville - was like home to me. The parking wasn't that bad - we paid $5.00 and didn't park very far away. But I couldn't let the kids run to the car and get something they forgot, etc.

I doubt I will get the girls back again unless I promise them a shopping day at Opry Mills mall because there were no youth that they knew there -due to school (It's no fun hanging out with your sister at that age).

I do think it should be more centralized, at least in the US. But personally, I don't really care that much. I can watch what I want to on the internet.....

Bishop McKinley,

If the decision is made to move the GA to another location, I’d like to recommend Huntsville, Alabama. The following is information about Huntsville and the accommodations for the GA.

Huntsville is located approximately 130 miles from Cleveland, making it easy to transport all the “stuff” necessary for the GA. Huntsville is also easily reached from Interstate 65 via Interstate 565. The Huntsville International Airport annual passenger boardings are in excess of 1,000,000. The airport is 12 miles from the Von Braun Center via Interstate 565. Most area hotels offer complimentary shuttle van service to and from the airport.

The Von Braun Center (VBC) is located in downtown Huntsville and is beside the Big Spring International Park. It is a turn-key facility with a team of experienced professionals. The state-of-the-art South Hall provides over 100,000 square feet of continuous space and 82,000 feet of column-free exhibit space, as well as its own 500-space covered parking garage, in addition to meeting rooms and a 20,000+ square foot lobby and pre function area. North Hall and East/West Hall provide an additional 50,000+ of flexible exhibit, meeting, and banquet space. Meeting rooms accommodate groups of all sizes. The Von Braun Center arena seats 10,000, the concert hall seats 2,153 and the 502 seat Playhouse Theater can also be used as meeting areas for conferences or seminars.

There are many restaurants within walking distance of the VBC offering a wide variety of food. The Embassy Suites Hotel is connected to the VBC via sky bridge. It features 295 two-room suites, including four hospitality suites. The Holiday Inn Select is just next door and has 273 rooms. There are many motels within easy driving distance and parking garages are located near the VBC with very reasonable parking fees.

There are hands-on children’s museums within walking distance of the VBC, ducks and fish to feed in the lagoon and the Museum of Art is also in the park. Of course the world famous U.S. Space and Rocket Center (home of Space Camp) is also located in Huntsville, as well as many other places of entertainment for families.

I would like to have the next GA in Va Beach, Va. The city is finishing building a new convention center. Lots of motels and sites to see. Great access to the interstate and airports. Great fresh seafood restaurants.

We could have it at the old Jim Baker facility in NC. They do rent it out. It's owned by Morris Cerrullo and his son now. It's also home to the Inspiration Network.

As long as they keep it east of the Missisippi River I think it's fine. Our attendance dropped when we had it out in Texas. To many folks wouldn't travel out there.

NO no no no no no nono NO!!!

COGOP may appeal to Pentecostal Nut Fringes to validate their man in the recent Azusa Street celebration but lets keep our distance from ANY ties to Baker and Cerullo even if it is location or business.

I think this scripture applies:

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
