We could probably hold our Assembly in THAT room alone!

If they ever thought about having the GA outside the US. The best choice (IMO) would be London. It is much easier for those in African Countries to get visas to England than the US. Also it would be more convenient for US citizens to be able to travel on their passport alone and not have to get a visa. And many times travel rates from the east coast of the US to London are fairly reasonable.
But I doubt this will ever happen. I guess their is just something about Tennessee and Meca that will never change.
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

Brother McKinley,

Although I only got to attend for Thursday, I liked the venue and the hotel. Nashville is nice.

I do wish that is was in late July so that more youth could attend.

Thanks for posting this thread.

Too many folks?? You mean too many folks from the deep south Bible Belt? One statistic that stood out in this Assembly was that we have less than 90,000 members in the U.S. out of just under 1,000,000 worldwide... in other words, less than 9% of COGOP is in the U.S. ONE national Overseer in an African nation has 200,000+ members.

I would love to host the Assembly in Hawaii (the International FourSquare Church had theirs here a few years ago to rave reviews and record attendance) but I am both a realist and a pragmatist -- that is unlikely to ever be taken seriously. But VEGAS, baby.

The Southern Baptist Convention had their big conference in Las Vegas and it went well. Always cheap airfares, a major airport, tens of thousands of hotel and motel rooms in all price ranges, CHEAP plentiful food, more conference facilities than we could ever use, with meeting areas that could accommodate us and have a circus at the same time, lots of family-friendly activities for people with kids... VEGAS, baby.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

I smell a fund raiser...

I'd love Vegas for a GA destination site. Or Hawaii for that matter. One can only dream.

Don't like the feeling that we can only have it in the SE. I wonder how many would actually travel much distance to have it West of the Mississippi.

Now if you take the Assembly to VEGAS, I will try to make ALL the J2 meetings! I know a few good places out there that would host us!

And, I bet the kids would beg to come to that GA!!!!!!!

The 2 assemblies we had in Texas were west of the Mississippi. Absolutely miserable. That Texas heat was awful.

I didn't mind Nashville, but from what I've heard we'd have been better off at Opryland resort, has that been looked into.
