I took the long road to say yes..

Postby n2jesus » March 22nd, 2007, 12:35 pm

Yes!!!! I pray for people on a regular basis to be saved...probably daily and I know it's always God's will to pray that, but I know that won't always happen...Man has a free will and no matter what he gets to choose yes or no....

Another example

Postby n2jesus » March 22nd, 2007, 12:42 pm

I have prayed daily in one way or another, fasted, interceded and anything else I could find in the bible on how to reach the throne of God for Charlie...Everything but sack cloth and ashes and plucking my hair out... Been praying since October 1st 1980 to be exact and he still ain't saved...He has said no over and over and over again to God, but it's written all over his face...yes he has found bits and pieces of joy, happiness and fun in sin...but I look through the eyes of someone who is free from the burden of sin and eyes of grace and he still says NO...but I shall keep praying till the day I close my eyes in death or I hear the sound of a trumpet...

Gerald aren't you so thrilled with my cut and dried yes and no answers???

Didn't you post a while back about one of those preachers on TBN saying something about not praying for people to be saved?
What we need here is a good revival! lol

You talkin' to me!?

If you're talking to ME, the closest thing I remember posting is something along the lines of some of those TBN nutcases say Jews don't need Jesus and can get to heaven without him.

Response: Yes, there was something posted a while back about this.

Some preacher was saying he didn't pray for people to be saved, yada, yada, yada.

I thought you had posted it.

Wasn't that when the Word of Faith church merged with your church, Gerald?

I could be wrong. I vaguely remember somebody posting that. Now we'll have to start a thread to find out who. :)

OH! I know what you are talking about, now...yeah, some minister in the WOF church....which has THANKFULLY found their OWN building (I could hardly go to my own church back then)...anyway he was preaching about it was more important to "Take authority" and "break the spirits" offa sinners, rather than to just appeal to God to save them.

It wasnt so much NOT to pray for sinners, but to pray for sinners in an Authority type rebuking way

One of the WOF errors and twistings of Scripture that gets to me is when they say "claim your family" and God will (positively, without doubt, because He is obligated by covenant agreement to do so, and you can have what you say, blah, blah, blah) save them. Based on Paul telling the Roman Jailer he and his whole house could be saved.

Oh! I was wondering if maybe they got to you on that praying for the unsaved thing, like maybe you had your guard down that day!
