Sports... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VICK FAMILY

Postby TC » May 14th, 2007, 4:49 pm

Mike Vick has had his problems over the years, His little brother is not any better.

The latest was dog fighting, he does not say it did not happen or that it did not happen in HIS HOUSE... just that he didn't know anything about it.

YEAH RIGHT...

Now this...
ANOTHER BOMBSHELL: BUCHANAN SAYS VICK FIGHTS DOGS

In a Friday afternoon interview with our buddy Steve Duemig of 620 WDAE in Tampa, Chris Landry of Fox Sports Radio said that former Atlanta Falcons defensive back Ray Buchanan told Landry on the weekend of the NFL draft that Vick is directly involved in dog fighting.

Said Landry of his discussion with Buchanan: "He tells me that Michael has been into this dog fighting for so long that . . . .he not only knew about, he is behind all of it, he's paying for all of it. . . . Apparently, he's into it big time."

Landry also said that Vick was actively recruiting teammates to become involved in the "sport." The audio of the Landry interview can be heard right here.

Buchanan was a member of the Falcons for the first three years of Vick's career.

It'll be interesting to see what Buchanan has to say when someone calls him up in response to this item.

Sounds like the Gov thinks he is guilty enough to indict him. I dont see a slap on the wrist coming out of this.

I live here where that is happening. The general consensus is how could this go on without Vick not knowing about it because where did his cousin get the money for all the materials without Vick's involvment.

I live on the other side of the nation & have the same questions.

I really expect the PR to be so bad & the public outcry to be so loud over this, that the team suspend him...

I think this may be his downfall. Vick never really measured up to what was expected of him. Too bad the Falcons let that QB go.

both Vick have been in trouble several times. The ONLY reason the got away with it because they are fairly good in football.

NOw Petrino is not one to take a lot of JUNK...I know he HAS to take the players the GM gets him.. I think this year he gets a pass, vick will be out and he will replace him. I think he will do his best to get Brian Brohm next year, he has so much talent, knows BP and most of the coaches very well. He worked with redman when redman was at the Ville and Redman is a backup QB, Redman could scramble, Brohm needs help there, same thing about pass selection... Some times Brian take the fist good instead of the best pass.

ALSO... he will be a player to build a team around, Vick tries too much to be a one man team.

TC, first I have thought long and hard before I finally decided to make this post. Please know that I have no intentions of offending anyone with this post, I hope to give another spin on this subject. Second, we both know that the Vick boy's can play ball, no doubt, gifted athletes.

However let me give you a different spin on this that I have a real problem with. I don't mean to upset anyone by this statement, especially animal activist. I in no means mean or believe that animals should be mistreated.

However, these are dogs! Pit bulls at that, which are bred for the purpose to fight. They do not have a soul. When they die they are not going to doggie heaven. They think nothing of fornicating, they are an animal without the potential of thinking.

In America alone we abort over 1 million babies a year and the outcry for that injustice is a drop in the bucket compared to what we are hearing about this dog fighting operation. Vick if convicted could spend up to 5 years in prison for this crime, yet Doctors walk the streets freely for committing the crime of murder (opps abortion) which is legal in the country.

What is wrong with the Vick family is the same thing that is wrong with America we are out of control.

That's my $.02

I dont disagree, however what he is accused of is against the law while abortion is not. He allegedly broke the law and the government indicted him. I know nothing of what is involved with dog-fighting, and I wonder why the public outcry is so intense. Other athletes break the law and the media storm is not as intense as what it seems here.

PETA and other animal activists groups are going to have a hay-day with this when training camp opens, especially if the team allows him to continue playing.

ROB... let me disagree withyou..... I do think DOG's are capable of thinking... (I could be wrong) but I don't see how a you can ask a dog a question or tell him something and they do it. I can tell my dog to go get her rope and she will search the house until she finds it and then brings it to me... NOW I know MY dog is the smartest dog ever....

But I agree with the abortion issue, the sad thing is BOTH should be against the law. I have never understood why killing a baby is alright but an eagle is not, why a baby is not a baby before it is "Born" yet a baby eagle is till an eagle in still in the egg.

It is that some value the life of animals more than people, I do value the life of a human over an animal, but I do value the life of an animal. This is just an issue used by some to punish him for his past behavior. Remember they got Al Capone on tax issues not the murders he committed

You've never seen a dog fight or rooster fight have you? Here is a mild example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgK7K-NzWRQ

The fights are often extremely bloody and to the death of the weaker animal. Gambling/money is the motivator for this cruel sport, if it can be called a sport.

they may not.... but the NFL might. After the example they set forth with popeye jones, He could do it. He could say Until these issues are resolved he is not allowed in the NFL....That would make him want this to be over soon and for the falcons to know what is going to happen.

I have never seen Petrino bust loose, but he has a rep of ripping kids who were not following the example he wants to send. He would not kick them off the team but make them wish he was off the team.

Exactly. Leave Michael Vick alone.

Now I think he should be gone based on the fact he is not a good fit for Bobby Petrino's system.
