What are you thoughts..............

Postby KBevangelist » September 2nd, 2007, 6:05 pm

After the first full weekend of college football? And let us stand up and thank God that the season has started. :D

What are you thoughts on the teams? Who has the best opening game?

I know FSU and Clemson play tonight. But of the games played so far what do you think

My vote, it is a pretty wide open year. I cannot stand USC, but o well.

ND can go 0-12 and still get in a BCS.

By far, and I am bias, UGA had the best opening game to me. Though UGA does not get the respect of ESPN, they by far played a great game.

Up next the birds ...... so we will see if UGA is for real

well I watched several games. UT/cal was a good game, two good teams.

Most of the other games were just like preseason games.

USC to me lives off the pac10, they play one or two conference games that are ok but most are a joke. BUT they are always picked to be the best... I guess when you can pay your players and no one cares it does make a difference.

ACC to me is still the weakest conf and I have not been impressed by anyone in the ACC.

I just wish there were more games....OH WELL ... I have the sports classic on cable... so There are 3 or 4 games on tonight with replay...

I like TC watched several games this weekend. So here's my thoughts.

I watched VA Tech and ECU was shocked that Va Tech didn't play better, but then again it was the first weekend.

Watched some of the ND game and they are terrible. Jimmy Clausen or no Jimmy they are bad. If they go 1-7 in their first 8 no bowl game for them.

Watched some of the GA-OSU game, and AU/KSU game, GA looked good at times, and AU did not look good at all.

UT/CAL game I was impressed with CAL and can't wait for the CAL/USC game. As for UT they have no receivers who can get down field, could be a long year for them.

Overall, I think the ACC/Big Ten are going to be terrible confereces this year. Especially with Michigan losing in the Big House to Appy St.

TC, I think the PAC 10 maybe better than you and I both think they are and I am not happy about that.

Again the SEC is the top conference, I think the Big 12 is better than I thought they would be and the Big East could be the 3/4 best conference this year.

I'm already ready for week 2.

Yep, I'm pumped about this season of football. My wife isn't so much!! LOL..

This is going to be great. The SEC is going to play so smash mouth football. It's going to be awesome. I know my team is in the dumps trying to rise above the challenge of the SEC which is fine. We'll get there. And there are lots of teams to watch each week too.. With the SEC's elite teams it's going to be some great football. My opinion is this: only Philip Fulmer can take some of the greatest atheletes and still not win the NC. He just does not impress me. He does some bone headed things that just don't make any sense. It's a good thing David Cutcliffe is back to help his offense. We have have the River Boat Gambler in Auburn, Saban at Alabama, ole Stevie boy in South Carolina, the Gators are wanting to repeat, Georgia and LSU, McFadden at Arkansas. It's just going to be great.

I think the Big Ten and the ACC are the worst conferences. Pac 10 would be if it wasn't for USC and Cal. I can not stand USC, but I will have to admit they are good. I just wonder if they could play week in and week out like the SEC teams have to if they could still be undefeated. I don't think so.

I love football season. I love watching football. There are six boys and three girls in my family so when we all get together, we have every tv on with a football game on. It's so great. During bowl season, we'll set up two or more tv's in one room and have the games going at the same time. My family loves football and we enjoy spending time together watching football. And you better believe we discuss a lot of football and it gets heated. :D But we have so much fun....

In the Pac 10 as TT said it is really Cal and USC...so top to bottom I don't think it is tough at all. Yes those two are are good

I think that UT will be ok, I think they will be second in the east. The problem is UT has become a revolving door. people coming and going. THere is no consistancy there.

From what I have seen the big 12 will be as it has been they will really beat each other and no one else.

I LOVE that ND is still N LAME... and they get to be on national TV so everyone can see it.

BTW woodson at ukay is a good QB but this he is the best in the SEC is WAY over the top. One game against Eastern Ky and a pathetic Clemson team does not make him heisman material.

There is a comment by stevie boy that said something like... I thought we did well beating Clemson but ky beat them so it wasn't that big a win afterall.

TC - I think you have more than just CAL & USC in the PAC-10 you've got to throw UCLA in the mix along with Oregon (which we will find out about this week as they go to the big house) and Arizona/ Arizona St. So I think think they maybe better than what you and I want to give them credit for.

The Big 12 did okay for themselves the first weekend, OK. State gave UGA a good game, and KSU gave Auburn all they wanted. Missouri beat Ill. which will be improved over last year, Neb. will be tough, (hope they beat USC) then Texas/ Texas A&M, Oklahoma so they should be better than last year.

The SEC, what else can you say. What a football conference. However, TC I disagree with you on UT, there is no way they finish second in the East. UF, UGA beats them for sure, it would not surprise me to see USC beat them and it would not surprise me if UK beats them this year. As for Woodson, I don't think anyone is judging him on his performance against Clemson, or EKU, but he has thrown something like 200 passes without an INT. Is he the all conference QB? To early to tell, but Ainge, the kid at UGA and Tebow sure didn't do much to impress me Saturday either.

The BE is going to be fun this year. I hope S. Florida goes into Jordan-Haire and beats Auburn to give them a taste of the BE and what will happen next year when they come to Morgantown. WVU goes to Marshall great rivilary game, UL gets MTSU, and I'm not sure about Rutger's this week.

The ACC/Big Ten is terrible, and by the way wonder why we are not hearing a thing from Dalebert?

Question should Michigan be out of the top 25 this week?

I'm going to wait till the first of Oct. before I start posting my Top Ten.

Is if Thursday yet?

I love the Pac-10 and i hope that those who dont get the chance to see the games week in and week out will realize that.

I abosultely love the fact that ND is losing again in front of a national audience. I am sure that they will still be in the talk/running for high rankings no matter their schedule or record.

Appalachian state??? best game of the weekend.

Okay Paully I realize you love the Pac-10. No I don't get to see them week in and week out, so in the East we normally don't hear a lot about them, but with Oregon making the trip east we will get to hear a little more about them.

I love ND losing as much as you do.

Appy St. how 'bout them 'Eers! It was a great game.

In the Pac... after USC/Cal it is a great big drop to anyone else. I would be willing to say beside those two they may have 1 team in the top 25 at best.

The big 12, I think Texas is a joke, and the rest have to be better than they were... they can't get much worst.

I am not a big supporter of looking at game ONE to see how things have changes. Really the only tough comp game was UT/Cal. That game Cal had the revenge factor as well as first game and being at home So I don't see that as how UT will do. I think they will Lose to Fla... and that is about it. I think LSU is WAY over rated, MSU gave them that game. THey had what 5 INT's and LSU was not able to score on most of them. I think they will have a harder time them people are giving them credit.

THe SEC might be their own worst enemy. THey will beat each other up and make the top dogs drop in the polls.

TC - there are times you confuse me. Like in the above statement. Don't look at one game, and then in the next statement LSU is way overrated? MSU gave them a game for 1 quarter. 15 minutes. Correct me if I'm wrong the final score was 45-0.

If using your logic is correct, then ND is not as bad as we think they are, and Michigan losing to Appy St. is no big deal either since it's only one game. And FSU's new "O" coordinator Jimbo Fisher, really didn't do a bad job installing his new offense at FSU, since it was only the first game.

Well you do have Tressel and Joe Pa, and next year you will probably have Les Miles from LSU up at the Big House. New Coach at MSU and Minn. so things may look up in the coming years.

I was impressed with Cal. I didn't feel bad after losing to them because it was such a good game. Rob, we do need better receivers, but it helps if your QB can throw it down field, which he couldn't because of the broken finger. They had been mentioning all week how that was going to be the case.
