Past the Deer on to bigger and better

Postby Pastor Don » October 8th, 2007, 2:12 pm

Hey Guys;
Not trying to out do, just sharing. Sandra and I were on the way home the other night and came across what is called Kimsey Mt. in Eastern TN. We came around on of the sharp curves to find a 450-500 lb Black Bear standing on all fours on the side of the road. Its back came up to the mirrors on our Ford Explorer. It was with out a doubt the BIGGEST bear I have ever seen in the wild.

We have see a few Deer, here at Fields of the Wood but not many. We did have a 350 lb Black Bear that came of the the All Nations Cross mountain last November and went across our neighbors fence and through his yard. One of the neighbor boys tracked it and killed it, it was still in season.

We will be going up to our bear camp later this month.

God bless...
Blessings; DJ

Pastor Don,

That is SO cool!
There never was a horse that couldn't be rode and there never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

Where exactly do you live?

I live in Clarksville, TN...my hubby invites guys over during hunting season to get rid of some of the deer. But then my daughter prays that the hunters won't shoot any while on our land. God does answer prayer! :)

Same here in Kentucky about the points. If you can see 'em, count 'em. And we're getting over-run with deer. The quota has been increased so hunters can take more than one. I havn't hunted them in a while myself but let others hunt on my property. There is one thing I hate about them; The deer ticks they have brought with them. When I was a kid, and there were no deer around we had the regular wood ticks, but now if we spend much time in the woods and fields we have to search ourselves for the tiny deer tick. And they are tiny, about the size of this .

There's more than one way to take out a deer.
