In my dream, I'm halfway through a semester in college or at least 3 weeks in, enjoying life, having fun, keeping up with everything....except for one lone class I didn't realize I was enrolled for. In my absolute horror, I realize it's past the dropout time for this class and yet I've never even met the teacher!!! I start sweating it out. And then I wake up.
It's amazing to me how many people I've spoken to that share the same recurring nightmare I've experienced. I know at least a half dozen (maybe more after I post this blog). The other day a coworker and I were walking out of the office and talking about dreams and before I could even ask if he'd had this dream, he said, "I've had this nightmare where I'm in college and I've missed going to a class I didn't know I had." He said his fiftysomething father still has that dream.
Does this nightmare sound familiar to you?
How completely freaky!!!! I have this dream all the time about law school In my dream, I'm in my last semester or next-to-last semester and, somehow (never clear in the dream) I've failed a class and won't tell anyone that I won't graduate on time, that I'll need an extra semester. But, then, it is like up in the air whether I'll graduate, and in my dream I have this intent (but never make it for whatever reason) to go see the registrar to double check my credits. In each dream, there's an awareness of some class that I failed to attend, or waited until like the last week of the semester to attend (that ain't gonna happen at UA -- you'll get booted for not going long before then). So, the dream is always some variation on these themes, but almost always includes all of them.
I didn't know it was such a widespread thing. That's amazing to me. BTW, I did graduate on time and didn't fail anything and attended regularly. So, I dunno what's up with that dream.
