Pastor Gary wrote:I'm with you on that, as long as by "mayo" you exclude that vile, vomitrocious, abomination from some place on the near outskirts of hell called "Miracle Whip." The only "miracle" in that whip is that anybody buys the nauseating, sickeningly-sweet mucous and then manages to keep it down.

Amen to that. :-)

Here's some from me:

Grits with butter, cheese and eggs

Don't forget the classics:

chicken + waffles

cornbread + buttermilk

bacon + greens
For the truth that lies at the heart of theology is not something there to be discovered, but something, or rather someone, to whom we must surrender. The mystery of faith is not ultimately something that invites our questioning, but something that questions us.

I'm getting hungry reading this thread. As far as mayo goes, it has to be real and in my house it's either Kraft or Duke's.

pizza (almost any kind) covered in ranch dressing

hotdog + chili + cheese + onions + slaw (not that unusual in my book, but my wife says it's wierd.)

bbq sandwich + slaw

Taco salad + ranch dressing (desperate for something to improve the flavor of the school lunch today, it was pretty good)

Don't forget the extra crunchy Peter Pan peanut butter on your pancakes with syrup drizzled over that.

Hot biscuits with butter and syrup are good also.

Okay, some of you eat food combinations that make me queasy, but I am enjoying reading the thread, and am very thankful there are no demon-possessed Miracle Whip defenders posting here.

Buttermilk is an ingredient, not something to be consumed as a liquid.

My father used to crumble up fresh cornbread into a big glass of buttermilk and top it off with raw onion; made me gag then, and makes me gag now when I think of it.

What is it with you people drinking BUTTERMILK???

Just the consistency, much less the smell... You know how you sometimes almost vomit, and then, at the last minute swallow it back?

Buttermilk/vomit... not much difference.

My mom, too! And I love those flavors together, also.
(Except "cheddar" was for fancy rich people... she tore up bits of American Cheese slices because that's all we had.)
