Ohio State, Boston College, LSU

Thanks to USF, South Carolina and Kentucky, my Ducks should vault three spots in the rankings to at least a #4 in the AP poll. We'll probably be 6 or 7 in the BCS.

Chris,

What about Oklahoma? You think the Ducks are better than the Sooners?

Here's what I think for the Top Ten.

1. The Ohio State (which may get knocked off in Happy Valley)
2. BC (which may get knocked on Thursday in Blacksburg)
3. LSU (don't know if they will get knocked off again)
4. Oklahoma (I think they will run the table too)
5. West Virginia (if they get past Rutgers Saturday they will run the table)
6. Oregon (USC is around the bend)
7. Virginia Tech (They could run the table)
8. Kansas (who would have thunk it)
9. USC (just when you think they are dead and out of it)
10. South Florida (Could still win the Big East)

Is it Thursday yet?

Paully,

With all due respect who has Hawaii played to deserve to be in the top ten?

No offense PG, but I don't think Hawaii is near as good as Boise was last year.

Hawaii's record

Seven teams who were not afraid to come and get their okoles kicked. Hawaii has beaten (in the past) Nebraska, Notre Dame and a bunch of schools who thought they were coming on vacation... so now our AD can't fill a schedule except with Jr. High girls teams.

As you can understand, when a team comes to play Hawaii and is a 30 point underdog, they step it up and bring their best game.

They still play some good football, and it is big fun to watch Colt Brennan throw. We shall see how the remainder of the season plays out.

Not that we were particularly good then, but they beat us (Bama) a few years ago in Hawaii when Timmy Chang was the QB. Colt is the real deal.

Yeah, and now Hawaii's AD, Herman Frazier, who came here from UAB can't get a phone call returned from Bama -- they have no interest in a repeat performance, I suspect.

Warriors 2008 Non-Conference Schedule:
Aug. 30 at Florida
Sept. 6 Weber State
Sept. 13 at Oregon State
Nov. 29 Washington State
Dec. 6 Cincinnati

WAC Home Games:
Idaho
Louisiana Tech
Nevada
San Jose State

WAC Away Games:
Boise State
Fresno State
New Mexico State
Utah State

I wold say that is a pretty decent schedule. Their non-conference games were no easy pickings either.

I hope they pull a Boise State this year and mute the whole "They didnt play anyone" argument. If they make a BCS game this year, that will be 2 years in a row that the WAC has been represented. Maybe it is time the WAC is given more attention.

PG - not a bad schedule for '08. However this is '07 and with all due respect Hawaii does not deserve to play in a BCS Bowl.

At least BSU - last year beat Oregon St. Wyoming, Utah on their out of conference schedule.

This year Hawaii has defeated teams with a combined record thus far of 11 wins and 42 losses. One of the a 1-AA team and the other a division 2 school.

In Hawaii's defense they do have a little tougher road from here on out, however, those combined records are 20 wins and 16 losses.

This is what Pat Forde says HERE.

Hawaii (9), 7-0
Best win: at Louisiana Tech (currently No. 107 Sagarin). There is absolutely nothing here worth noting. Every opponent to date ranks in triple digits. Average Sagarin number of the motley seven: 159.3. The Warriors wouldn't even be No. 1 in I-AA.

Going gets tough: Never, really, though a three-game stretch of Fresno, at Nevada and Boise State comes close.

Electability: About as viable as Dennis Kucinich.

I personally, cant stand the BCS. Without a real playoff system, the "championship" game is debateable especially with mutilple undefeated teams.

Plus, they really messed up the bowls. The luster of bowl games (Especially the Rose Bowl) just isnt the same for me.

Amen brother... Amen..... I hate it... The BC Mess is exactly that. I am so glad this is happening especially if Ohio State, BC, and whoever else loses. With all those one loss teams it's going to be a mess. There is just too much money out there so I don't know if they will ever have a playoff. But we need it.. Greedy folks... Why can't we just enjoy football without all this? It's just the way life is....

My point exactly. WAC might as well, except for Boise State, call themselves the Cupcake Conference. Hawaii has a tough road coming up, and if they escape out of that, then I'll be impressed.
