UH Warriors climbing

Postby Pastor Gary » October 28th, 2007, 9:49 pm

Eight straight for UH.

Warriors move up to No. 14 in BCS standings.

Warriors move up four spots to No. 12 in AP poll.

Warriors move up to No. 11 in USA Today coaches poll

Warriors move up to No. 10 in Harris Interactive poll.

Warriors remain tops in scoring in NCAA statistics.

Warriors’ streak continues: Big games from Brennan and Grice-Mullins fuel rout.

And I will ask again who have they played that justifies that ranking?

I am not looking forward to when Hawaii plays my UW Huskies. We gave up over 500 yards in the air this past weekend. with our secondary, I expect UH to have a "big air" day.

And, again, I respond: 8 losers.
Perhaps you folks who have teams not winning should consider that hiring an Athletic Director who books a winning schedule is part of an overall strategy.

Brennan had -- IMHO -- a lousy night against New Mexico Aggies, and I was sitting near a guy who had not been to a UG game before... he was amazed that Brennan was that good on an off night. They may not go undefeated -- remains to be seen, but it won't be the schedule but the skill, since we have beat the big boys and small ones alike before.

wasn't that part of the arguement last year to keep Boise St from playing in a BCS game.......? "Who have the beat?

They proved themselves last year.

Going undefeated, if they do, gives HI validation to rankings and a BCS game.

I stated this before and I'll state it again. With all due respect Hawaii does not deserve to play in a BCS Bowl.

At least BSU - last year beat Oregon St. Wyoming, Utah on their out of conference schedule.

This year Hawaii has defeated teams with a combined record thus far of 15 wins and 47 losses. Two of them a 1-AA team.

In Hawaii's defense they do have a little tougher road from here on out, however, those combined records are 18 wins and 14 losses. Plus they get the toughest contest they have left in Boise St at home.

No my team is 7-1 plays in a BCS conference.

We will see if Hawaii goes undefeated and gets to play in a BCS bowl why they do not belong. They are not the Boise St. of last year.

Yes, but it was spoken by a man who's team is ranked

7 spots higher than Hawaii in the BCS
5 spots higher than Hawaii in the AP poll
4 spots higher than Hawaii in the USA Today Poll
& 3 spots higher than Hawaii in the Harris Poll

and really has no reason to wine.

Congrats to Hawaii though - I hope they do go undefeated and get to go to a BCS bowl anyway. All will know then either way.

Here's the deal, for us: we are 2,500 miles out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, on a 45 mile wide island. Recruiting, despite the "magical" mystique of Hawaii, is difficult. Getting major teams to commit to the long plane ride and expense of a road trip to Hawaii is difficult. It's an uphill, David-and-Goliath struggle to build a major, successful sports program, so forgive us a bit of pride when things do go in our favor.

I know we have played some push-over, cream-puff teams this season... we almost couldn't fill our season at all, and had trouble booking '08.

June Jones took a chance on Colt Brennan when he was a total screw-up, both as a player and a person, and has shaped his skills and his character; it is a real All-American feel-good success story, and, yeah, we are proud. So far.

We have a week to rest up and gear up, and then Fresno State (5-3) on November 10. Brennan said yesterday that "Now the real season starts."
