Yes, by me. Almost every time I preach.

I don't know that my preaching would be classified exactly to fit this, but I have at least tended toward this fairly often, and especially more recently. I don't know that it's as obvious as it would be say in more Bible Study where we do much more of this, but then we're probably not a typical church either.

I think often we move to topical preaching (and Scooter, that would be more what you are describing unless those 17 scriptures are in a row)

This is not saying other preaching is non-biblical, but it's a style of taking ONE passage of scripture and explaining it, rather than taking a topic and pulling scripture from several areas to support or explain that topic.

Bible Study can be much more indepth this way, and traditional/extrabiblical teachings don't come out this way, which is why many prefer it, and possibly why it's not seen as much in typlcal traditional CoGoP style.

My style is largely expository, or semi-expository. We literally CRAWL verse by verse or passage by passage through sections of scripture. We started in Ephesians 1 verse 1 on Sunday, August 12, and this week we have reached Ephesians 4:25-32. It takes as long as it takes.

I say I am an expository teacher/preacher because that is the overall style, but I also try to teach like Jesus taught, and he taught using cultural examples and stories, so I personalize the messages with stories from my life or the life of the church. But you be the judge, Gerald: I can say, like Jesus, "I said nothing in secret."   By that I mean there's more than a year of our messages archived on our website, and we are building an archive of videos of the services.

J.E. Brisson once shared about preaching on the book of Romans for 3 years 6 months. Would that qualify for you? :D

I don't know, because when I asked this question I was thinking of a minister that took twenty years to do the same thing.

Then your question is subjective?

Brother Brisson reportedly used about one scripture each Sunday for over 3 years to exhume the most meat possible from the book of Romans.

Objectively, this sounds like a pretty good example of an expositor's sermon style.

I was just poking you and you are of course correct.

But, being that I head Brisson preach AJ Tomlinson from scripture, I do wonder at the quality of the exposition.

That's really unfair though. Many COGOP ministers (including myself) taught and preached fallacy simply due to our indoctrination. People change and ministers change with time.

I'm not sure when you heard that sermon, but I do not recall hearing Brother Brisson preach anything not biblical as my Overseer in the early nineties.
