Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville showed no interest Sunday in acknowledging rumors Texas A&M might be interested in hiring him, but such talk is bound to heat up after A&M coach Dennis Franchoine reportedly agreed to a buyout Monday.

ESPN Is reporting Texas A&M wants to talk to Tuberville about replacing Franchoine.

CBS Sportsline reported Franchione agreed to a buyout. It was not clear if Franchione would remain as coach through the remainder of the season.

Texas A&M wants to talk to Tuberville, sources told ESPN college football analyst Andre Ware. The network reported that on its website and on ESPNU.

Ware reported that school is working with Chuck Neinas, who runs a consulting firm specializing in hiring coaches.

Tuberville dodged A&M talk Sunday.

``We're not going to get into that the next two weeks. That would be a headache if we started doing all of those `ifs' and `ands,' '' Tuberville said.

According to ESPN, Franchione's contract pays him $2 million per season and runs through 2012. A buyout will be $141,667 per month for the remainder of the contract, or about $8 million. Ware reported Monday that Texas A&M is looking for a buyout in the $2 million range. Franchione is 6-4 this season.

Tuberville has a $6 million buyout at Auburn.

Season's not even over and the coaching carousel has begun. I thought this would take place Tubberville to A&M which would open the door for Petrino to leave Atlanta to take the Auburn job which he nearly did a couple of years back while he was in Loserville.
If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right will make no difference." -Abraham Lincoln
