Been kind of obsessing on one of the songs "Oozlin Daddy Blues" - a song about ooglin pretty women -which has the humorous line:
Went to get my fortune told,
gave that gal my hand to hold
Oh Lawd!I got those oozlin daddy blues!
It was in that gypsy place,
she read my mind and slapped my face,
Oh Lawd, Oozlin daddy blues
The reason I can't get i tout of my mind is, that if you de-jazz it just a tad, take out the Dixieland horns. You've got the same tune as "I'm in a new World since the lord Saved me." Which as we sang it in Tennessee youth camps, still had quite a bit of old jazz/swing to it.
