Hulk Hogan's son

Postby Shellie » November 8th, 2007, 4:44 am

Most of you have probably heard that Hulk Hogan's son is in some serious trouble for a drag racing accident that has his friend's life hanging in the balance. They say that if his friend and passenger lives that he will be a "vegetable" for the rest of his life.

The boy in the car that they were racing is a graduate of the school where I teach. He is also a friend to Hogan and his now injured passenger.

Hogan was drinking and drag racing on a public street when the accident occured.

I was talking to our boys basketball coach who also graduated with one of the boys and he thinks they are being too tough on 17 year old Hogan because they are trying him as an adult and that he is possibly facing 5 years and the loss of his license.

Just wanted to get some opinions. How and with what do you think Hogan should be tried with and what do you think he should get?

If they try him as a juvenile, he would probably get 4 years and lose his license. The only difference is where he would spend that time.

He definitely needs to be taught a lesson. His families press release yesterday was disgusting. Basically, it says that it wasn't Nick's fault, the guy should have had his seatbelt on.

So basically, if I drink and drive and have an accident, it isn't my fault if the injured party didn't put his seatbelt on.

Also, this isn't the first time Nick's been in this trouble. He was even pulled over earlier in the day for driving over 100. He has been pulled over, given tickets, etc on several different occasions.

They may go a little harder on him because it's a high profile case, and the news will have a field day with it, but at his age, with previous offenses, I don't think trying as an adult is really that far from normal for this type of thing.

Of course if the passenger dies, then it will be much worse on him.

I think he should be tried as an adult. I think a lot of times, celebrities think they are above the law. I think the son is cocky and needs to know that when you drink and drive, whether racing or not, you must pay for what you did. I guess this time daddy's money won't work. By the way, I am a Hulk Hogan fan.

I'd want to know a lot more about the kid's history before I made any call on that. If he's got a history of drunk driving or misbehavior, it ought to go harder on him.
But I think the parents of boy who's hurt would fare a lot obetter if he were tried as a juvinile. That way, daddy's responsible for his debts, and I'll bet daddy has a lot more money than sonny...
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

Mike,

Nick was given a ticket for going over 100 earlier in the same day as the accident. He had been ticketed on a few occasions before.
