Last night I was driving back from Lexington and listening to ESPN Talk Radio and on the show was Beano Cook, Mel Kiper, Jr. and not sure who the 3rd guy was.

Now let me set the stage because as I was listening OSU had already lost to Ill. Mel and the other guy from ESPN was asking Beano how messed up the BCS was now with the possibility of 2 teams being undefeated Kansas and Hawaii with only the possibility of Kansas having a shot at the NC game. Beano replied that Kansas would lose to either Missouri or OK in the championship game, but Hawaii had a shot at finishing undefeated but would not get a shot at the NC game. (Sorry PG, I'm quoting Beano here).

Then out of no where Beano stated the reason there is not a playoff in place in the FCS (Football Championship Series former D-1) is that both the PAC-10 and the BIG-10 would not give up their rights to the Rose Bowl. Remember this is Beano Cook not I.

When I heard that I was totally shocked. I would love to email the College Game Day crew or someone and ask that question to see how much truth there is in that. Any way does anyone else have any thoughts on that?

Beano also said, that the SEC and Big XII are the 2 best conferences in America? Any takers on that?

Seems to be the consensus of all the "experts" and talking heads are saying nationally. I'm sorry. I forgot to add "experts" except for a few on here.

Yes the SEC is the best.

For who is number two well we will leave that up to the other jude2 experts.

Everyone knows the best conferences are the WAC and Sun Belt.

I remember one other thing that Beano Cook stated Saturday that I just remembered. The Big Ten has their football schedule complete by this weekend. The Big Ten does not play any games after Thanksgiving except for bowl games. That is another reason that the Big Ten is against a playoff for D-1

Not sure if i would say that the Big XII is one of the best but for the last several seasons the SEC has been a great conf. The Big 10 has went downhill the last five seasons or so. But for some reason(s) the Big 10 seems to get lots of the teams in a bowl game!
