I heard shots

Postby DeWayneTN » November 15th, 2007, 4:03 am

This morning before work, I was walking my dog outside and heard a bunch of pops (sounded like fireworks) and then a whole lot of sirens. I went in and checked out the news and there was a police standoff and shooting less than a mile away. Does anyone have a bullet proof jacket they're not using? :-)

Just get a gun that shoots further and you can take care of things before the bad guy gets that close.
There never was a horse that couldn't be rode and there never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

Sorry, no jacket, but your story reminded me of something that happened about 20 years ago.
I was washing my car in one of those do it yourself bays, and a loud wind squeal and explosion happened close to me - it made me drop to my knees! I walked out seconds later to see a ball of flames buried in the wall of some nearby apartments, and a greenish-white parachute descending from above into the pine trees around the corner.
It was a jet from Dobbins Air Force Base that had crashed within a block of me. I'll never forget it. It was LOUD!
