Do you believe in healing?

Postby Susie Hamilton » November 24th, 2007, 1:45 pm

I posted in the Praise forum this evening about this past week being healed of GERD, scar tissue in my throat. Tell us about how God has healed you in the past.

About 5 years ago, I had surgery for torn cartalage on my knee.
When they wheeled me into the operating room and put me on the operating table I was placed on my back.
To which my body was twisted. I thought to my self I'm going to straighten my body up before they put me out for the surgery.

But I didn't get a chance to.. they came in placed the mask over my face and I was gone.

Fast forward..
After arriving home I was medicated for the pain. And didn't really suffer any pain till the next day when I found my self in excruciating back pain.
I was alone, my husband was at work. I had no one to help me and could hardly walk.
I could not do anything to rid my self of the back stabbing like pain.

After this went on for about 1/2 hour I started praying.
And then I really cried out to God.. God, I can't take this, I need you to help me.
I had been to the bathroom and went back to lay down. As I started to lay back down.. I heard these words.. lay down on your right side and get into a fetal position.

As I layed down and pulled my legs up into the position.. the pain eased away. I haven't had any pain since then.

I had a broken toe and possibly a bone in my foot was broken as well. It was totally healed in a foot washing service. That was years ago and I was a brand new Christian at the time. The previously cold water was warm when I placed my foot in it. The woman washing my feet commented on the water temperature change. Quite a show to a brand new believer...I can tell you that!

Last Week!!!

Postby panhandler » November 24th, 2007, 4:43 pm

Leaving work last Friday night I fell and badly twisted my ankle. I hobbled the rest of the night and all of the next day. At service on Saturday night a lady came forward fro prayer and the Pastor asked that I come up and lay hands on her ankle and pray for her. I did so and prayed and when I stood up I realized that I had no more pain in my own ankle. I had had 0 pain in it since then. Praise God!!!

I believe in healing. I have never been healed (to my knowledge).

However.....

I am the grandchild of a woman who died as a young child and had begun to grow cold and stiffen.....when a minister prayed and she recovered. Her unbelieving father instantly changed his opinion.

I am the child of a woman who...medically speaking.....should never had been able to bear children.

I believe that I've related this before, however I shall tell it again.

In 1998 my left lung completely collapsed. I have emphysema and a large bleb blew out leaving a huge hole in my lung, causing the collapse. The x-rays showed the lung had deflated down to the size of a walnut. The doctors inserted chest tubes in an effort to re-inflate the lung. That worked as long as they could keep negative pressure on the chest tubes, yet everytime they tried to remove the tubes the lung would collapse again.

All the while this was going on, my Christian friends were either coming by to see me or sending up prayers on my behalf. After three attempts I finally convinced them to try a lung reduction surgery. That was a success. The lung, or that which was left of it, stayed re-inflated without the tubes. After I came out from under the anesthesia, the doctors came in an talked with me about the long road to recovery ahead. If I did everything right, they told me, in a year or two the lung would develop what is termed "compensatory emphysema," which means that it will produce new lung tissue to replace the lost tissue. But that tissue will be almost useless as far as breathing is concerned, it's just there to fill up the empty space.

Three days after surgery I climbed four flights of stairs without stopping. I was released from the hospital to recover at home. When I went for my two week post-op exam they took new x-rays. The doctor called me into his office, and he had my new x-rays up on the viewer. The x-rays showed two complete lungs, and my blood oxygen level was at 98%. The doctor must have sat there for 15 minutes just shaking his head. He released me to return to work that day, light duty of course.

The doctor could not understand what had happened, but I could.

I know that I may have shared this before, but I have two beautiful miracles that I see everyday! My husband and I knew before we married that we might never be able to have children due to some medical problems he had. I simply told God that if we are suppose to have a child, then we would. Well, two months after we were married, I found out I was having a baby. Wow, God answered prayer!!! Four years later, we had our second baby. Fast forward to 1999...I was in the hospital having a hysterectomy (sp?). After the surgery, the doctor told me that they didn't know how in the world I had been able to have not one, but two children. You see, as they started the surgery, they had to stop and evalauate what they were seeing, which was a very deformed uterus. One that should not have been able to hold a child for nine months.

I realized what a great miracle God performed in healing my body in such a way that I was able to carry both babies to full term. I look at these two beautiful daughters everyday and realize what true miracles they are. I am so thankful and grateful to God for this special healing He and only He could have performed. I am also thankful that He let me know of this miracle when I had surgery.

That is so awesome, lady4jc- carpel tunnel is awful... my mother has it, and is on light duty at work because of it. It can degenerates and get worse and make even simple movements difficult. Rheumatoid arthritis, a healed lung, healed foot, and all the others are amazing testimonies, that we need to talk about.

I have been very blessed with good health, and I truly believe that is a blessing- and I have been healed of "small" things. Right now, we are believing the LORD to heal Sam's hbp completely, and in the meantime he is also trying to change his diet and exercise.

All of these are so wonderful, thank you for sharing.
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

God healed me of pretty bad skoliosis.

:)

Also, I had a painful one inch cist on my right ovary that God took away
And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

Isn't God GREAT?!!

Postby Brenda » November 25th, 2007, 1:57 pm

How awful of me. Lord forgive me.
Thanks lady4jc for reminding me.

I too was healed of carpal tunnel.

My hands were swelled so bad I didn't have any knuckles. My hands felled like I had needles sticking in them. And I had to play the piano at church.
After service our Deacon would start to shake my hand and he'd ask hows those hands of yours? Then he'd take them between his hands and rub them and say, Jesus touch her hands.
And he did.

The doctors wanted to do surgery on both my hands but God did it.
Praise His name!

Gotta love that cold water in those foot washing services.. (especially when you're wearing pantyhose.) That is an amazing testimony. :)
