Michigan takes step

Postby turbotim » November 29th, 2007, 7:26 am

to make Miles next Wolverines coach.

Bill Martin, has officially requested permission to speak with Les Miles about becoming the next coach of the Wolverines. Bertman requested that the meeting not take place until after LSU plays Tennessee Saturday for the SEC championship. Martin told Bertman he will comply.

I think we all saw this coming.

LSU will have its own meeting with Miles next week to make its pitch to keep Miles. Sources say Miles will be offered a sweetened deal.

Is that question really necessary?

He is gone.

If Tuberville leaves Auburn, then Petrino from Atlanta will go there, if Tuberville stays I say LSU will make a push for Petrino

I know, shocked me, too.

I really, really like Jeff Tedford for that job.

I've got a feeling this story is not over. If, and that's a big if, Michigan is Myles dream job and he doesn't take it, he will never get another shot at it if he doesn't take it.

Myles is not the favorite child of LSU and he would be at Michigan. I just can't believe he is not going to take this job.

That's my $.02

I am in a state of shock. Michigan is spurned again this time by Greg Schanio of Rutgers. You know I would have thought this would be a job that folks would jump to take. Now it appears Myles is going to stay at LSU and who knows what is going to happen in Ann Arbor!

see if I can stir something up with this comment

I guess no one wants to be in the Big 10 huh?

The winningest program in college football history, the largest stadium in the nation, and can't buy a coach. I'm shocked, too. Maybe they need to pony up the money. Y' know, it really IS about the money.

If you recall that is what i said in a past post. Why would anyone want to coach in the B10? The conf lacks vision! Oh sure there are lots of players that go to the pro's from the B10 but how many good teams go to the bowls and WIN? The B10 needs revived and overhauled!

Maybe they should woo ND to come into the B10 so it can become the Big 12....ooops there is already a B12!. Anyway, then we could have a play off for Conf champs and gain so some respectibility. I would like to see ND in our conf.!
