nope, the coloration and sucrose deposits would be viewable if it sat long enough to lose carbonation. there are many other clear liquid and semi-liquids it could be, though.

edit - i voted on the poll question, but I feel that I wasn't being completely honest, since I don't believe that there were enough options presented.

It's interesting that this has come up!

While reality is important, the real crux of the matter is in how people perceive that reality. To the optimist, the glass if half full, awaiting only the addition of more water. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty, denoting that a portion of the contents are missing.

Probably the reason I first said I didn't want to hear anything negative: I co-teach with singularly the MOST NEGATIVE person I have ever met, (and yes, I have met Gerald... :) ) Most of the time I am able to get her up to reasonably pleasant, but often she has extreme negative reactions to anything and everything.
So, on Friday when we had our conference, I was sitting there thinking how wonderful it was, how much I was learning, and how thoughtfully and competently it had been put together by a team of creative and knowledgeable ladies.. when my co-worker, sitting at the table next to me, began to grumble and spew. Despite reactions from the others at our table, who were also enjoying the conference, she continued, while eating her snacks and reading an Avon catalog...:)
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

Sorry, I can't vote either way. I don't know if the glass was half filled or half emptied. :shrug2:

Just another viewpoint. Is this a negative attitude?

To the optimist, the glass is half full.
To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

The BANKER would say that the glass has just under 50% of its net worth in liquid assets.

The GOVERNMENT would say that the glass is fuller than if the opposition party were in power.

The OPPOSITION would say that it is irrelevant because the present administration has changed the way such volume statistics are collected.

The ECONOMIST would say that, in real terms, the glass is 25% fuller than at the same time last year.

The PHILOSOPHER would say that, if the glass was in the forest and no one was there to see it, would it be half anything?

The PSYCHIATRIST would ask, “What did your mother say about the glass?”

The PHYSICIST would say that the volume of this cylinder is divided into two equal parts; one a colorless, odorless liquid, the other a colorless, odorless gas. Thus the cylinder is neither full nor empty. Rather, each half of the cylinder is full, one with a gas, one with a liquid.

The SEASONED DRINKER would say that the glass doesn’t have enough ice in it.

Me, I say it is neither, and both at the same time.
