Paully,

I agree with you on the playoff, the only problem that I have with the bracket was simply this, I don't think the teams should be placed according to ranking, but should be seeded.

No way is Hawaii a 10 seed nor Florida a 11 seed. But it is a start.

and at least something to dream about.

I love March Madness when the brackets come out. I always look forward to filling mine out and following all the games.

Football could be just as good.

Wow, that's neat. I agree with Rob on the seedings, but that would be a start.

Oh, the dream of a playoff..... :D

For sure it is a start. And this year more than ever we need a start!

Worried about the second-rate WAC boys continuing to rain on your SEC parade?

I'll propose my own ladder system that favors my favorite team:

Hawaii beat Washington
Washington beat Stanford
Stanford beat USC
USC beat UCLA
UCLA beat Oregon State
Oregon State beat Oregon
Oregon beat Michigan
Michigan beat Illinois
Illinois beat Ohio State

...so under THIS subjective system, which makes as much sense as YOUR subjective system, Hawaii would be #1, and even more so as the only undefeated team in college football.

a football playoff system will never happen! First of all....only one game per week can be played! How many more games would a team that would go to a NC game have to play? Second....there is way too much money from all the bowl games that any conf. would lose by going to a playoff system. There is not a conf. which puts at least 5 teams from their conf each yr in a bowl game that would allow it to happen!

Face it college football fans...the college's has gotten money hungry and too dependent on that money to give it up!

I could not disagree more with you Dalebert!!! A playoff will happen, and it will happen in our lifetime. True one game per week, remember OSU and the Big Ten has not played since Nov. 17th. You could have a 16 team playoff. Remember the NC game this year is not till Jan. 7. So you could begin Dec. 15 with 1st round games, Dec. 22 for second round. December 29 for Semi's and the championship game on Jan. 7. (using this year's calendar.

You could still use the bowl system to play 15 games and that would still give you 17 bowls for teams that did not make the playoffs.

Money. Did you say Money! How much money do you think college football would make from a playoff system? It would be incredible. How much money do you think College Basketball makes from March Madness.

The truth of the matter is this, the Big Ten and the Pac 10 do not, I repeat do not want to give up their rights to the Rose Bowl. Kind of like ND, being an independent, want all the pleasure of College Football but not share the wealth.

It is not all conferences it is only two!

That's my $.02

Tell me PR , where did u get ur info that these two conf do not want a playoff and the rest do? I still dont see where a playoff would make more money for each conf. Having a playoff would only allow a smaller amount of teams from a conf. to play than to have the many that play now in bowls!

Why would you have a playoff system in place plus bowl games?

Dalebert, my info came from Beano Cook (A Big-10 Guy from the Pittsburgh area) and Mel Kiper, Jr.

I'm not sure how many conferences have a revenue sharing of the bowls. I think it would be easy to have a playoff using the some of the bowl games in play now as the sites for those playoff games, then you would not be having to find teams 6-6 to play in a bowl game. I mean come on, how stupid is it that all you have to do know is have 6 wins to be bowl eligible and can wind up 6-6 and play in a bowl. I thought the purpose of playing in a bowl game was to be rewarded for the season that you have had not for being average which I think 6-6 is.

But unless your team is playing in a certain bowl who's going to watch? Plus, who in their right mind feels that Alabama deserved to be in a bowl game?

yeah and this is what im thinking about the playoffs, even if you had 16 top teams and they played in two weeks and the rest of the teams that had good records played in a bowl game...how many people would watch the bowls game and how much money would they bring in?
