Doesn't Norman Fontana have a show on Disney where his kid is a sing---? Oops, wrong guy. 8) Thought I had traced him there for a sec!

Andrea Fontana Mullins.....I remember in high school her name was AMY.
Don't know what the name change was all about.

Anyone remember the LHC? TC's unsanctioned fraternity. Harold and Ronnie Walker? And Jimmy Orange...That guy is STILL in college. He must have like 50 degrees by now. I lived in Cleveland from 77-81 and he was in college then. He's a great guy, though. Has a heart that is bigger than he is.

And here's a name for you older guys....BOON YONG BUREENOK

He stayed in our home many times. Where is he at now?

He stayed in touch with my parents for years after we left Cleveland and moved to Oregon and beyond.

Gosh this is a nice trip down memory lane.

And Bev Goforth...WOW...anyone remember her. The band director, that I work with, does. He dated her in college.

I could go on and on, but I won't.
God does not need me...but He wants me.

Regent is a good university. Does anyone know if PArker is a good instructor? I may be going there to get a Bach. Degree in Biblical studies.

He's a good instructor...I slept through many of his classes at TC (not his fault).

could yo elaberiate? was it because of previous teachings? As you know I still practice and pastor in tcog, so I know I will not agree with everything but I am considering regent because they still teach things in a much more way of charasmatci/pentecostal way rather then something like liberty university. BUt i am not going to look for someone to agree with me anyway. Does he teach like the basic pentecostal doctrines? Or is he boring and this is why you fell asleep?

When I had him Parker was an excellent instructor. He is one of those brilliant people that can take anything YOU say in class discussion (no matter how stupid it may sound) turn it around, make it sound as if YOU said something wise and thought provoking which illustrates whatever point his lecture is about.

While I didnt sleep through his classes and thought him dry and difficult at the time, in hindsight, I wish I had had the maturity to have recognized how good he really was.

I've wished that about a lot of things in life (the older I get) not just Steve Parker's class!

At TC, I was Bro. Parker's student aide. He wrote one of my letters of recommendation for law school. He is excellent, and he has won awards for his teaching at Regent, including something like the most popular or best instructor.

His bio page at Regent says this,
I often think that the comment from Eric Liddell in the movie "Chariots of Fire" sums up my thoughts about teaching. The Liddell character says at one point "God made me fast, and when I run, I feel His pleasure." I feel something similar about teaching. I might paraphrase that God made me a teacher, for when I interact with students I feel His pleasure.

I'll join the testimonies here that this is true. A wonderful teacher is measured by how much his students learn from him, and I doubt you'll find many of Parker's former students who will say that they didn't learn a lot as a student of his.

Just FYI, too, you can read an article of his on developing faith here

He is also listed as a go-to person for reporters with questions about religion in the news here.
