How safe is your church?

Postby DeWayneTN » December 10th, 2007, 10:31 am

How safe is your church? In light of the shootings yesterday, are there things you have considered changing for the safety of your congregation?

I would imagine Scooter and Shellie's church is pretty safe. :-)

Our church isn't the safest by layout and design. Especially our children's department would be vulnerable.

I have raised the same concern with a few directors (and hopefully soon with our Overseer) about security issues at our youth camp facility.

We got 2 deacons that stand at the door with a colt 44, & 3 women with that stand at the other door with a 2 x 4.

Seriously, we have a police officer (a member) that attends about every service.

Yeah, scooter is about the most dangerous thing at our church!

We have armed security patroling the building and grounds 24x7

The Children's area has controlled access points and some lockdown capability (it also serves as a day care and has the highest marks possible from the state in all areas including security.)
