Here's my take on this, as if you all are interested. I do hope that Shellie see's this. So here goes.

How many guys are in the NFL, will be playing football this weekend that have been charged, found guilty of abusing women, rape, etc. Yet this weekend, they will suit up and play.

Micheal was fighting dogs and gets 23 months.

Sounds like our judges and system place more value on dogs than women. And we think we have come a long way, I really wonder have we?
If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. I must say that I am curious to what you meant by this statement?

Yes, and yet we continue to pay them millions, throw endorsements their way, give them trophies and pay hundreds and sometimes thousands for tickets to watch them play. Whose fault is this?

Micheal was fighting dogs and gets 23 months.

Did we forget that Vick TORTURED, ELECTROCUTED, AND KILLED dogs that did not perform well? His 23 months was punishment for more than just dog fighting.

Sounds like our judges and system place more value on dogs than women. And we think we have come a long way, I really wonder have we?

No argument from me. I think child molesters should get the death penalty, but then, I'm not running for office.

not throwing darts at u shellie but in american everyday we murder thousands of babies and those who do it get no jail time! I know, laws are made ! We give a man 23 months for killing dogs! Yes i know its cruel to just for no reason kill animalsl but its just soooo sad on how we(USA) look at things differently! We care more about killing dogs than we do human life!

Shellie,

I wasn't sure since this post was moved, I was not sure how often you visited the Sports section, that's what I meant by that statement.

You asked the question of who's fault it is? In my opinion, it's my fault, your fault, the league's fault, the system's fault. It's my fault, because I continue to watch these guys week in and week out, if you watch then it's your fault too, that's why I said that. It's people who buy's products they endorse, it's the league's fault that they don't step in a discipline these guys like they have Pacman, Henry and others for their misdeeds.

But the system is also at fault. No I've not forgot what Vick has done, I feel it's wrong. But I don't think the punishment fits the crime. I know of folks that have abused their wife, children and didn't get 23 months. No they didn't kill them, but their wife/children are forever scared by what has been done to them. And amazing they even get their children back in shorter time than Vick will serve for what he has done.

I guess our system has forgotten there is a vast difference between an animal and a human being. Thus we have laws to protect DUMB animals, and allow children and women to suffer at the hands of men who deserve a more stiffer penatly for what they have done, than what Vick did. Yet they are allowed to walk free after they have spent a few weeks in a anger management class. That's my opinion.

Dalebert and Rob,

I am not in disagreement with you that rapes, murders, abortion, and etc. are horrible crimes. Again, I am a huge supporter of the death penalty and even more so feel that if we went back to courtyard hangings we would cut a lot of things down.

I just think we are comparing apples and oranges here.

I don't think we can say that Vick shouldn't have gotten 23 months because the other despicable crimes go unpunished. The problem is NOT that Vick was punished, but that the others are NOT.

I think that Vick should have gotten jail time and I think that those that shed innocent blood and commit rape and domestic abuse should be locked up for a loooooong time OR receive the death penalty.

Shellie, I am going to have to choose to agree to disagree with you on this and leave it at that.

That's fine. I'll still hug your neck at the Assembly. :D

One last thing. If the killing and the method of killing had been absent, I would not have agreed with the 23 months either.
