In case

Just in case anyone IS interested in picking up a great deal on an Apple product, now is the time.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

too expensive... I can buy an extremely nice PC to run Linux on for the price of an entry level Mac. Then I've got all the added benefits of free software.

What Extremely nice PC can you get for $599 that comes with all the stuff listed here?

The last time I priced out a "nice" PC it topped $900

Also, what apps are you using that do not have Mac versions or cannot be run in Bootcamp or VMWare's Fusion or Parallels?

Not a Fanboi, but I do think the age old excuses for switching to a Mac are dead and buried and only used by folks who haven't looked at what is out there now.

PS___OFFTOPIC___ have any of you who use both a Mac and a PC found or know of a PC application which mimics OSX's Expose? When I am on my work laptop I find myself squeezing the mouse constantly to bring up other windows without thinking about it :( PM me the application's name to keep from Hijacking the thread any further

4 years ago, I bought 5 Dell Desktops. one for my parents, in-laws, home & church. Nothing has gone wrong on any of them. Only thing I have done to mine is change out monitors for a flat screen.

I also have 3 dell laptops that are still plugging away. Dont use them much anymore except for church camps & retreat's.

I deal with several hundred Dell PC's (for several years it was all that we would buy). They have an extremely high failure rate (at least compared to the other systems we've purchased). We only have a handful of the first Dell's that we bought that are still working (and these are Optiplex systems which are supposed to be more reliable than the Inspiron systems). Most of the whitebox systems that we purchased before the Dell's are still running fine, we've even pulled some of them out of storage to replace some of the Dell's, luckily we had saved them for parts.

As far as the price, you can buy a good laptop cheaper, and the only thing you'd be pressed to argue that is as cheap or cheaper is a Mac Mini, and I can build a good pc with double the storage as cheap or cheaper.
