Where'd they come from?

Postby Ilovebigcats » December 12th, 2007, 9:43 am

There is a church right down the road from me. It is a spanish COGOP. I grew up around here and in this district. Where did they come from? They are in Nashville.

Where did they come from?

Well, it could have been Spain, or the Dominican Republic, or Puerto Rico, or Cuba, or ...................................

I didn't mean the spanish part.. I meant the COGOP part. Where I live there is a HUGE population of hispanics. I am curious if they started in another COGOP and grew big enough to get their own place or if a minister relocated to start a spanish work?

Who are THEY ? ](*,)

Are you refering to People from Mexico, Latin America. Are you refering to Mexican people who are now living among THOSE people of Nashville ?

There was never a spanish church here before. It is a NEW church. I was wondering how it all come about. That location is new... I didn't know if they were a mission somewhere or if it was brand new or if they started in another local church.

Actually the state overseer may not, as this church wouldn't be under him, but a regional hispanic overseer (don't remember his name, but he's over the ones here in KY as well. We actually shared a building with a spanish CoGoP at Mt Sterling when I was there.

They are focusing and starting these mission churches all over.

I can't speak for Nashville, but here in Louisville my local church hosts a Spanish Church as well.

IT started when a minister IN COGOP and FROM an Hispanic country moved to town and decided he wanted to operate a ministry out of our local.

Right now, the Hispanic attendance rivals the original congregations attendance.
