I'll never use a hotel glass again...I'll take my own cups. Whenver I stay in a hotel room I lysol the place from top to bottom before I put anything in the room.

My youth pastor and I shared a room recently for a training seminar and he couldn't stop laughing at how mucy lysol I used...I told him I was protecting his health...He now does the same.

That is why our first stop is usually to the store, to buy bottled water and snacks.

Also a good reason why we also take the bed spread off and take my own pillows.
Let the wild rumpus start!

The bedspread: that gets pulled off, folded up and laid aside immediately upon checkin. There's no telling how few times that thing has been cleaned... once every few month? And no telling what kind of things have been taking place on that nasty bedspread...

At least we are reasonably sure the SHEETS have been washed in really hot water and changed. (I am not that thrilled about hotel pillows, either. Yeah they have a fresh pillow case, but hundreds of people, some of the nasty people or sick people, have been sleeping, drooling and breathing in/on those pillows.

In regard to bedspreads in motels: My sis cleaned in Kodiak, AK. I went up to visit her for a week and went to work with her. The first thing she told me was not to even sit on the bedspreads.(not changed and yucky).

Never thought about the glasses there. Bottled water for us from this time forth.

Even while staying in five star hotels, I still drink only bottled water. As for bedspreads, I never sit on them, they come off the bed when I come into the room. Nothing is as clean as I would clean it myself!!

My daughter worked for Marriott, Springhill Suites, she advices that when enjoying those complimentary breakfasts, avoid the sausage and bacon....they reheat it for days if it wasn't used.

I have always read/heard that the one item in the hotel room with the most germs is the.......TV remote control. We always keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with us.

At the hotel I worked at we did not use bed spreads, just a small runner at the bottom of the bed. The sheets and the down blanket were washed after every stay with strong detergent in scalding hot water.

As far as the furniture in the room, I would advise not sleeping on them.

Also, swim in the pool at your own risk.

Oh, and wear socks or slippers. The floors are only cleaned about once every 6 months.

You and me both. I don't even fold them I shove them to the nearest unused corner in a big wadded mess. We even bring our own quilts and pillows. LOL!
