If these talks were guided like this then I would continue. BTW if we are evil for still standing against divorce and remmariage fine it does not change the word of God.

James 3:13-17

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
KJV

Response: Interesting. God does bless me. For that matter so do others.

I do have an axe of iron which is sharpened by friends.

Whereas you find my zeal against the Tcog as lacking biblical wisdom I find even more so about Tcog.

If the Tcog were a simple, hey we beleive in D&R, exodus then fine. I find that revisionist history. The founders of the group as well as the followers brought slanderous accusation against the leadership of the CoGop mostly without repentance.

As I look through what the organization stands for I find it in an absence of mercy and it full exclusive partiality according to your posted scripture, attempting to perfect the outward flesh rather than circumcise the heart,
birthed of envy of power and control, saturated with confusion and hipocrisy as well as, hard to be entreated, because of the blind arrogance which ties the bind.

Go through your own minutes. "He should be the leader, no I'm the leader, no you're not, well if I'm not I should be and if I can't be well then you're not really THE Church and I'm starting my own"

What sane person could sit through such without doubt and confusion?

Oh but there was a good spirit there.

There friend is your birth and possibly ours too. We repented.

I hope you find your way clear of such to know the difference.
What we need here is a good revival! lol

Response: Blameless how? Passing things that they thought were right?

Attempting to protect the organization from people stealing properties?

Provoking the religious spirit that controlled the Church?

What?

how misled you are friend. I actually wrote in detail the truth to this matter and realized you baited me to do what I said I would not so I will refrain and deleted it . One thing I will say changing things without uninamous agreement which was the practice was wrong. We have moved on I sugest you do the same. As far as the rest of your statements you have no idea what you are talking about. You are clueles what took place way before the "concerned" My family was in headquarters. You just scratched seriously deep wounds that you know nothing about. Just a note my family is not TCOG and do not believe it.
You win friend Im done and gone. I was warned even by some in cogop not to come here but I did. Good bye you are in my prayers. never desired to hurt anyone but you have done a good job. If you only knew what my family went through. Im in shock you can post such things with no caution of anyone else but yourself.

no. no it does not alleviate their responsibility. But then, I guess I never assumed that they would willingly "hide" their exclusivity and doctrines therein from folks coming/visiting.

How would you realistically handle that kind of situation, in order to be up front with traveling folks? after one visit by a person or family, take them aside and walk them through the 29-step process?

interesting statement you have made there. interesting in that you didn't just disagree with him and say why, but you apparently went into defense mode and accused him of ignorance, by proclaiming (as an apriori) that he is misled (based on a text only forum and a handful of posts?).

too bad. no, really. but if you feel that you/your faith is being challenged "too much", then there is nothing that can be done to bring you back if you have made up your mind.

One Love,

Some of the posters and points of view are sometimes to much for myself. Probably because I still so freshly identify with you.

However, in all fairness, your sensibilities will cause you to misread and misinterpret many of the posters as well. If you continue you will at the very least come to understand the other side's perspective. You may also come to objectively admit some of the errors on the Concerned and/or TCOG side of things.

The fact is, wrongs were done on BOTH sides. Both sides had those of leadership and/or influence who were manipulative, self willed, deceptive, divisive, and covetous. Yet, both sides had masses of folks torn, led, groping, and feeling to find their way, to stand for truth, to honor their commitment to Scripture, and to practice their convictions. It was a mess. It was a struggle. It was difficult for most everyone. And it is Christ who suffered the greatest loss.

Forgive me but I would like to say somehting here and try again.
I have stepped back for a moment. Hoping things can be a little better.

I understand that, I feel one can get there point across without demeaning an entire group.

I understand there perspective and always have. I never denied that. I dont undertand the attitude and judging that goes behind it. You can tel me we are wrong for this, that and the other. Im ok with that. But to make blanket statements referencing a lot of people is not right. Errors are made by everyone yes even TCOG and still are in error today as we speak. I agree there. I know some even in 1993 had a bad spirit, though amny had good intention's not all were right. Just as those in cogop were not all right.

I can agree to a point Chris But not all. I know you have had a new revelation and new light of theology but are you retracting your entire view as why things happened in 1990. Just curious, what brought that change of heart? As i said I believe both had wrongs done because there is alwasy folk with a wrong spirit and political agenda's but are you implying it was not a just cause?

There is much discussion about what happened in the 90's. who did what to whom. who is at fault, what fault, digging for more fault.

We are all at fault. we are all petty, and we are all in need of forgiveness. there is a few here that believe that they are perfect sinless beings, once they got "saved". but I am not one of them. I am a sinner, that was saved by grace. nothing I do makes me worthy of salvation, not even living a sinless life. Holiness is something to strive for, yes, but as a byproduct of that salvation.

Jesus, God - shed His blood, in order to atone and pay the debt we could never pay. yet we are arguing over a flag. I am ashamed. and a secular, korny quotation - can't we all just get along? We can have discussions, and even agree to disagree, as necessary. But the fault-digging and finger-pointing is a waste of time, in my opinion.

Yes, I am a newbee in this challenge, but maybe it takes a new perspective to get out of the rut that we desire to continue to be in, for whatever reason. Pauls teaching on not taking stuff to secular courts is applicable here. not in reference to courts themselves, but in reference to OUR seeking unity and MATURITY.

I dont undertand the attitude and judging that goes behind it.

one love, for some it may be, (and because I wasn't "around" until about the end of the 90's it hasn't affected me as much) it may only be based on any past negative experiences with church folk or doctrines.. but as we get to know you, you don't seem to be such a bad sort. :) Welcome to the fray.
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.
