You can tel me we are wrong for this, that and the other. Im ok with that. But to make blanket statements referencing a lot of people is not right. Errors are made by everyone yes even TCOG and still are in error today as we speak. I agree there. I know some even in 1993 had a bad spirit, though amny had good intention's not all were right. Just as those in cogop were not all right.
Some posters do not have the attitude or tone you may perceive. That is my point. Your perception is based on your own predisposition. It's that way for everyone in general in this kind of medium. But in the case of TCOG vs. COGOP issues it can be especially influential, and difficult.
Just consider that some on the other end of this discussion may perceive you as judgmental, superior, etc.
As some one who has spent years here building bridges like you yourself are seeking to continue, I just wanted to try to pass on some helpful advice.
I can agree to a point Chris But not all. I know you have had a new revelation and new light of theology
Well, I don't think so. I don't have any new revelation. Only more revelation - more light, than I previously had (and there is no intention of saying others have less light because I feel that way. That is their is nothing personal in those words, just how I feel about my journey). But I know what you mean. So on to the next part.
but are you retracting your entire view as why things happened in 1990. Just curious, what brought that change of heart? As i said I believe both had wrongs done because there is always folk with a wrong spirit and political agenda's but are you implying it was not a just cause?
Retracting? No. Amending? Absolutely. The fact is we were lied to and mis led by "our side" as well, on more than one account. Particularly about events as they transpired during the Overseer's Meeting and related events when M.A. Tomlinson vacated the office of G.O.
Our reaction was sincere, and right according to the perception we had of events. But in truth some things were not as we perceived them.
The split would probably have still happened, eventually.
